It's hard to be this vulnerable online, but I feel like the bucket of cold water is extremely necessary to understand how exhausted we all are.

We've lost and rebuilt our audiences a dozen times, pivoted, weathered storms, added additional streams of revenue, and the sisyphus boulder gets heavier.

Between losses of sales, wholesale, tariffs, and fewer corporate clients, I have lost 50% of my gross income this year as a full-time graphic designer and artist.

All I can add to the “we reject universal masking” discourse is that it’s not about masks. You aren’t rejecting universal masking, which never happened; you’re rejecting having to think about wearing a mask, and maybe feeling badly about thinking about masks. Can’t help you there.
