Oak galls on Hackney Marsh. Right, a knopper (wasp) gall. Left, I've not noticed this one before, they're made by the gorgeously named Silk-button Spangle Gall Wasp (thanks, Seek app).

Both wasps produce an autumn generation of parthenogenetic females & then in Spring a sexual generation. Amazing

Justin Webb at it again on #Radio4 #Today -- It must be so grievous being a researcher on that programme. You put facts in front of Webb and the little pub Tory in his head shouts Lalalala.
This morning, Today on BBC Radio 4 @bbcsounds.bsky.social had the Energy Secretary, Ed Miliband, on to discuss the costs of energy, among other things.

Veteran presenter Justin Webb made a few dodgy claims. Later, @skynewsrss.bsky.social and Wilfred Frost were at it too.

Let's examine 🧐

Why should UK MPs be registered to vote & be resident in the UK?

Voting is a basic civic duty. If MPs aren't even registered to vote they can't fully engage with the democratic process & can't represent the public who elected them.
