Canadians have their "loonie" and now so will we
The Trump administration just announced they are considering putting Donald Trump on U.S. currency alongside the Founding Fathers.

This is huge: “A drug that provides near-perfect protection against H.I.V. with shots just twice a year will be made available at $40 per patient annually in low- and middle-income countries, offering new hope… making lenacapavir a realistic choice in countries with constrained resources.”

If anyone needs a tiny boost today, Gen Alpha is now using “AI” as slang for “bad” and “disingenuous.”

I think it's possible that the Mayans were correct about the world ending in 2012 and what we've all been living since is the decaying afterimage of what once was, something akin to when you can still see a star for some time after it's burned out.

Ossoff: He never should have been confirmed by the senate and he needs to resign. It is one thing to be a skeptic or a reformer. It is quite another to be a fool…

Could programmers from the 80's understand today's code?

Could todays programmers understand code from the 80's?

My brother, I don't understand my own code from last week. Every line I write is a bespoke bit of spontaneous genius that even I am incapable of deciphering mere days after writing it.
I always like it when client wants to add a new feature, but then I look at my source code and it's "wth was I thinking back then" for something like an hour
I haven't been there since 1997 but I recognized it immediately. Iconic

Taking photos and video of law enforcement officers performing their duties in public is our constitutional right.

This includes police, FBI, National Guard troops, ICE agents, and other government officials.

Article 1, Section 9 & 10 have been removed from the official Govt website on the US Constitution. Among numerous points:
•Section 9 forbids suspending The Privilege of the Writ of Habeas Corpus
•Section 10 forbids ex post facto laws

This better be a joke. Ignoring these is full blow dictatorship
My fastest time is 22 seconds (twice). I can usually nail it in under a min. Today I got it in 36 secs (without distractions, lol)

Reminder that in 2021, Senate Republicans filibustered a bill that would have banned partisan gerrymandering of congressional districts.

What’s really going on in Texas? I give you Rep. Jolanda Jones in two parts speaking from temporary exile while they deny a quorum to state Republicans. She lays out every bit of it out - chapter and verse. These Texas Dems are the real deal. @texasdemocrats.bsky.social

We think of the White House as a big mansion, but the point is it's not a palace. It's a house. It's modest, one of the smallest residences for a head of state. The east and west wings are deliberately minimal and unobtrusive. It's not Versailles or Buckingham. It symbolizes civic republicanism.

There’s renewable energy ads and there’s mother**cking wind farm ads. This, blissfully, is the latter.
