It’s really great that the 82nd and 101st are being mobilized to help with hurricane response but it makes me wonder why we are once again utilizing a warfighting force to do things that are very much not fighting wars. We should resource better solutions.

It is very depressing to watch areas Ukraine liberated around this time two years ago now being retaken by Russians. I have long complained that while Ukraine isn't necessarily collapsing, it isn't winning this war. While it is inflicting heavy losses on Russia, it also suffers a great cost.
