Happy drop weekend! What's new? Liminal Horror modules like The Mall Remastered by @goblinarchives.itch.io
🛍️
An entity slithers through the racks of last season's jeans, consuming and transforming all it encounters - salespeople, garlic pretzels, teens in the arcade. It's 90s nostalgia + The Thing!
The cover of The Mall, a module for Liminal Horror. The entire cover is a graphic novel-style, detailed black and white ink illustration of a decrepit, blood-stained mall hallway. Bad things have happened here but now all is relatively quiet. There's slimy ooze crawling out of the roll-down gate of a closed store, twisted mannequins (including one stepping out of a shattered display window), and more ooze slinking above, along the hanging banners that would have advertised sales An interior example from The Mall. On the lefthand page, location descriptions for 17. Food Court, 18. Stan's Pretzel Stand, 19. Joe's Burger Bar, and 20. Spiral Cinema. The illustration shows a freestanding pretzel kiosk with blood pools at the register and on the counter. A mass of meat that might be a person's torso leans against the front of the kiosk. The righthand page is a lettered map of the Basement and Lower Tunnels (yes, there are tunnels in a mall - Jen used to work at one, Jen is writing this description, and Jen affirms that real mall basements are absolutely as labyrinthine as this game suggests)

Spontaneous Carcinometamorphosis, commonly known as Mancini's disease after the famed boxer-turned-crustacean Bruno Mancini, is a disease that will slowly turn skeleton to exoskeleton, hands to claws, lungs to gills, until a human being finds itself where all the roads of evolution lead: crab.
A textbook anatomical drawing of a human with a large crab claw for an arm. Some of the organs inside appear to be that of a crab's. A black-and-white photo of a patient in a hospital, being held by two nurses. The man's arms are now crab claws, and his skin is turning into an exoskeleton. His eyes are now at the end of stalks. A textbook showing three black-and-white pictures of a person's arm turning into a crab claw. The three stages read "Presymptomatic patient", with a regular man's arm, "Exoskeletalization", where the arms turns hard and segmented and the fingers start fusing, and "late stage transformation", where the arm is fully crab-like.

To avoid any confusion, I can confirm that the Dracula in Hotel Dracula is a Confirmed Dracula, same one Stoker wrote about.

Theres a lot of new bits in this newsletter post/blog that builds on the SRD. One of my favorite things that Josh wrote for the Deluxe Edition/SRD is the Horror templates. These provide such a strong starting point by using archetypes as a means of laying the foundation for your own monsters.

To celebrate the jam launching we put out a newsletter that goes into HOW TO CREATE YOUR OWN MONSTERS for Liminal Horror.

You can read it for free here (and you can sign up for the free membership on the patreon to subscribe to the newsletter)

Welcome fresh Liminal Horror modules from @goblinarchives.itch.io + @spacepenguinink.bsky.social + Seth Ian
🐝The Parthenogenesis of Hungry Hollow - body horror bee cult!
🧸Playthings - a surreal escape challenge for a box of sentient toys
🛍️The Mall Remastered - a 90s mall with a sinister oozing twist
The cover of The Parthenogenesis of Hungry Hollow, a hardbound book with a yellow title in 70's-inspired cinematic font (like a movie poster). The rest of the cover is an oil painting-like illustration of a pregnant woman in a yellow dress standing in a wooded clearing, turning toward the viewer. In the distance behind her, two people in apiarist outfits release bees from a wooden box-style beehive The cover of Playthings by Seth Ian for use with Liminal Horror. The title appears in childlike crayon-rainbow font. The central image is a head made of a mashup of half a Barbie face, a skull, part of a stuffed animal, and a GI Joe's helmet. The head floats against a blue sky-like background The cover of The Mall, a module for Liminal Horror. The entire cover is a graphic novel-style, detailed black and white ink illustration of a decrepit, blood-stained mall hallway. Bad things have happened here but now all is relatively quiet. There's slimy ooze crawling out of the roll-down gate of a closed store, twisted mannequins (including one stepping out of a shattered display window), and more ooze slinking above, along the hanging banners that would have advertised sales
