last week i remembered that macOS lets you set your own icons and that *I* have the power to delegitimize the professionalism of the software that runs on my machine, so here's a thread of the 16 new icons i've made so far

i really forgot how fun it was to just sit down and make art for myself :')

#OVER/UNDER was the most intense and most often I've experienced bleed. Honestly, I can't really think of many times outside of a high stakes battle that I'd felt my body and mind reacting to a game like I did *often* during O/U. For me, that was almost always a really exciting and new experience!

So. I just finished playing the game Over/Under. For those of you who don't know what that is, it was a month-long, real time, play-by-post (PBP) game set on...

@juniper-c.bsky.social learned about the OSR while playing #over/under and has somehow managed to already learn enough about it to hold correct opinions on what OSR stands for.
@explorersdesign.bsky.social is it too early to submit posts for the Bloggies?

A truly wonderful read about bleed. The Vor’s death and the grief expressed by the characters gripped me so much, yet in game my character had zero connection to the people and scenes unfolding, so the only avenue I had was to paint out what I was reading- leading to the piece showcased here.

No safety tool would have been able to prevent the extreme bleed that O/U induced in many.

But the whole community took care of each other, and, more than that, the constant bleed led to incredible moments of roleplaying, storytelling, and out-of-character connection.

The bleed was the game.

I once asked a bookseller at a large indie store how many people would have to buy a book for it to get the attention of the store buyer and cause an additional order and they said: Three.
I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

I have long posited that Daniel Craig's accent in Glass Onion is better than Knives Out because in Knives Out he is trying to do a real Southern accent and is bad at it but in Glass Onion he is just talking like Foghorn Leghorn, which is something a real gay Southern weirdo would do.
