Anti-fascist. Leftist. Human rights aren’t debatable.

Intersectional working class politics are the only way. (Personal account)

Only way to break the cycle of devastation and suffering caused by the right is with an actual left-wing Democratic Party (i.e. Bernie, AOC, Tlaib, Etc…)

Actually we don't talk nearly enough about conversion "therapy" or how evil it is or the fact that many people who go through it never fully recover.

So many people, even cishet allies, think it's just like ineffectual talk therapy and that misconception is so dangerous.

Nathan Vasquez is abdicating his civic duty as DA.
In case you're curious what your DA is doing instead of standing with the community who got viciously tear gassed by ICE this weekend:
1. Covered trial call for a photo op;
2. Prosecuting a misdo resist claim against an
ICE protester to run cover for the PPB cop who broke that protester's arm.

As a white “middle-aged” guy I 💯 agree with this.

In fact: if they can’t “serve and protect” then they should have their budget cut.
At the City Club event last night a room of about 150 people, majority white, majority middle aged, clapped when I said if the police legally can’t protect us against federal agents they shouldn’t get more money.

Thinking that the #1 priority of democrats in Congress needs to be the removal of Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries from leadership.

It’s as if they’re working for Republicans.

Democrats are dead in the water with them at the helm.

Unions mad 👇
Today, 31 unions & labor organizations representing over 130,000 workers in Portland and OR sent a letter to @mayorkwilson.bsky.social & District Attorney Vasquez demanding that they enforce the law and get justice for the children, elderly, & working people tear gassed by ICE on 1/31.

Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries have to go. They are a liability to the party and the country.

WE WANT ICE ABOLISHED!!!
And there it is!
Dems are already folding on ICE demands.

Any wonder why Democrats have just 18% approval? Masks are a BIG DEAL too. VOTE THESE PEOPLE THE HELL OUT! 🤬

Chuck Schumer is a liability to not just the Democratic Party but the country.

He’s effectively working for the Republican Party.

He must be expelled from Democratic leadership.

I think Portland is still reckoning with people who detest that there was a large, sustained social justice focused protest in 2020. They still blame it for "ruining the city" or some other grievance that doesn't actually make sense, but signals that they prefer peace over justice.

The oversight resolution from me, Councilor Green, and Councilor Avalos passes!

Aye - Avalos, Smith, Pirtle Guiney, Kanal, Green, Morillo, Koyama Lane, Dunphy

Nay - Ryan, Clark, Novick, Zimmerman

Portlanders deserve transparency about public dollars, I hope this is the beginning.
If City Council does not have an accurate an reliable accounting of funds to make decisions for what services we save and cut, we cannot do our jobs.

Council must exercise our oversight powers to prevent this from happening again, and I will strongly support Councilor Green’s oversight resolution.

I really thought this was going to be a 6-6 but when Councilor Smith voted yes, EPG went (reluctant) yes too.

We will have our *first* oversight hearing as a new city council.
Final vote on underlying resolution

Aye - Avalos, Smith, EPG, Kanal, Green, Morillo, Koyama Lane, Dunphy
No - Ryan, Novick, Clark, Zimmerman

Passes!

Passed 8-4!
Portland city Council should 💯 invoke their oversight powers to find this $40 million.

Budgets are tight and the public is being asked ONCE AGAIN to cut things that are essential and dear to our city.

Transparency and accountability is demanded.
