When I got home, I saw a video of Tina Kotek basically telling Eugenians to calm down after days of escalating ICE violence in their community.

I mentioned a couple of days ago that I am finished watching this government arrest Black journalists as lawless federal agents shoot innocent unarmed people in the street.

Councilor Morillo is calling on the county district attorney - someone who ran on a platform of criticizing protesters - to find legal recourse for the indiscriminate attack on people exercising their First Amendment rights.
Mayor Wilson has now indicated he will expedite the rule making process for the Detention Facility Impact Fee. I am grateful for that.
We also need District Attorney Nathan Vasquez to outline how he plans to hold ICE agents accountable for the unlawful use of tear gas against a group of families.

I join my City Councilors in calling for prosecution of ICE for this flagrant violation of city and state law. This is illegal, and if ICE does this to families and children on a sunny peaceful daytime protest, I shudder to think what they do without that kind of daylight and public scrutiny.

I wasn't able to attend the protest today, but from earlier photos and videos it looked community driven and family friendly. It's an absolute disgrace to see the federal government indiscriminately tear gassing elders, children, and people using their constitutionally protected rights. ABOLISH ICE.
