You read this quote and think "what on earth" and then you read "student theatre group" and go ahhhh
"When a doctor told me I’d come close to dying, and that the play had to stop using real knives, I remember thinking: “You just don’t understand theatre.”"
Experience: I was stabbed in the back with a real knife while performing Julius Caesar

Heated Rivalry is coming out soon and it's a weird tv show in that it's a gay romance that isn't trauma based

Oh and hockey
I think if Canada wants to have a strong cultural identity we need to go back to doing what we're best at, making the weirdest fucking TV shows you've ever seen

people always stereotype Canadians as being polite, and its not true at all. We are passive-agressive weirdos who live in isolated weird places and the sooner we make peace with that the better

Because this isn't about journalism. This is about revenge. It's just newsworthy revenge.
One is compelled to ask why Lizza didn't report on this if he knew this was happening in real time?

It's not just Nuzzi who's a corrupt social climber and benthic courtesan to power, but clearly most of the rest of the DC press corpse. Absolute garbage people, the lot of them.

You can't deconsecrate a host; extras are usually preserved in a tabernacle, given out, or consumed by the priest and maybe some helpers
* You can buy bags of deconsecrated scraps of communion wafers--like, the bits left over and NOT used for religious purposes. They're packaged and sold as snacks. They're especially popular in Quebec.

truly the Khan's knowledge of poetry and the arts is as great as his bow-arm and his firm grip on the steed.
haven’t seen ROS or Solo but this seems like a pretty ball-knowing list from Pritzker, particularly if he volunteered the name “Star Wars” rather than “A New Hope”

"Eulogy for a flock of dead ostriches" sounds like a B-side metal song
Ostrich Convoy leader Jim Kerr (aka "Poppa Bubbles") delivers an emotional eulogy for the flock of dead ostriches at Queens Park in Toronto this afternoon

Kerr broke down in tears before denouncing the Canadian Food Inspection Agency for "spreading blood-soaked hay all over the neighbour's lawn"

Mostly I hope they use it to clean up the loose ends from the other 3 series
I'm very happy about this.
But I really hope they don't try to make it prestige.

Give us 20 ep seasons of mostly stand-alone sci-fi stories with charming but not blockbuster production values.

The CW was still crushing that model as of a few years ago, it's doable, and it's where Stargate belongs.

The problem isn't that I can read, it's that she's allowed to write
i'm thinking about doing a live reading of Nuzzi's entire book and selling tickets to raise funds for a charity that teaches kids not to read

From this minister's op-ed: "People wanting to experience God are more likely to meet the Divine trying to shut down the Broadview, Illinois, ICE facility than we ever were in church...God does not live in our houses of worship, but...with those who are bearing the brunt of cruelty in this moment."

People don't remember getting kicked out of online chatrooms by capricious mods and we are worse for it
everyone gets so mad at the mods here for doing basic mod shit. sometimes you gotta make a little murder joke and eat a three day ban for it. that’s life baby, there’s beauty in that.

They’re running Under Milk Wood as originally broadcast, for the first time, this weekend on R4 Extra. Obviously, it’s brilliant. And I highly recommend a listen. It still sounds amazing; truly timeless. The most dated bit is the credits - but, oh, those character names.

I really want to go to Montana to go sapphire mining, but I told my dad this and within 5 minutes he called me and told me about ICE raids and border issues
This is also something that Dem governors also either don't understand, or pretend not to. "Come visit us! We're nice and we also hate tariffs and Trump!" Yes, and ICE operates in your states too, so...?
It is very weird when US media does not report on the safety concerns, which are top of the list for Canadians I know. Yeah we are also pissed off but we've been pissed off since January, the decline was not gonna keep declining based purely on "elbows up."
