I’ve been trying to get into oil painting to calm my nerves because I’m on edge and anxious a lot and it’s really just messing around a bit at this stage but it really helps. Just moving something around in a shape that pleases me in the moment grounds me in the physicalness of what’s in front of me

It’s a fact that nobody in positions of power is willing to risk eroding their own power by doing anything meaningful to hinder the worst of their colleagues they see the system they preside over as more important than any cruelty no matter how bad and they won’t risk weakening it so much as an iota

If you tell specific groups of people to assemble they will actually do it but you have to use the word assemble. Something about that word just gets into people. Say you’re walking down the street and see some road workers if you say road workers assemble you better believe they’ll assemble
