Qrts are the perfect litimus test for what gamers will quantify as "evil". Phil Spencer could kill a Palestinian child point blank and the game journalists would focus on Nintendo sueing someone or parenting something. Because "evil" to consumers is just the things that directly impact them

Trying to find a high quality rip or GSF pack for the GBA version of DKC3 led me down a rabbit hole; I found an MSU1 pack for the SNES version that allows you to play it with the GBA soundtrack.
It's kind of awesome but also kind of cursed; SNES sfx and GBA music is a weird combo.

My "professional" opinion is that Donkey Kong Country is more directly responsible for the mechanical and design evolution of your favorite modern 2D platformers (and many of your 3D ones) than 2D Mario is.
Perhaps as a consequence of online Nintendo culture solidifying during the GameCube era, people still tend to overlook what a huge, monumental thing Donkey Kong Country was in the 1990s. This idea of DK being a B or C-tier brand, or just an appendage of Super Mario, has never really been true.
