Scientists studied thousands of children born March 2020-May 2021.

Out of 800+ mothers diagnosed with COVID-19, 16.3% of their babies received a neurodevelopmental diagnosis by 3 years old, compared with 9.7% who weren’t exposed to COVID-19 in utero.

Lol, Zillow tried to rate the climate risks facing individual properties. The real estate industry *hated* it, precisely because it worked -- it made selling risky properties more difficult. So they rebelled & Zillow caved.

Don't look up!

Fondly remembering a half built clinic in rural Texas that took a bunch of grant money, built a slab, put up a few beams, and then stopped construction because the owner pocketed the money. They kept voting GOP there btw.

the linked article about a rural community's medical clinic closing ends with a coffee shop owner proposing that the solution is to find a doctor to make house calls.

this is where the stuff about "engaging Trump voters" runs into the reality that a ton of these people are completely delusional.
Something notable in this article is how much the life long locals don’t seem to give a shit. Which was an entirely predictable outcome if you've spent any amount of time among people like this
How life changed in a rural town in Virginia that lost its sole health clinic after the passage of Trump’s megabill. The residents voted overwhelmingly for Trump in 2024, and now they’re suffering for it.

I am realistic enough to understand the demand-side issues, but I am also old skool about stuff like this and I really wonder how you can have a fully-realized university if you are just continually dropping coverage of significant areas of knowledge like this

Immigration=good was a principle understood by Frederick the Great! If you want to “retvrn to tradition” then the argument starts and ends with population=power. The idea of homogeneity as a virtue is an innovation of the Romantic period. The liberal idea is more traditional.
Lincoln was re-elected on a party platform saying "That foreign immigration, which in the past has added so much to the wealth, development of resources and increase of power to this nation, the asylum of the oppressed of all nations, should be fostered and encouraged by a liberal and just policy."
They're not hiding it, folks—straight up neo-Nazi advertising, from the font to the language to the 11 stars for the Confederacy. Then you have the DHS openly using white nationalist language of "remigrate", which means ethnic cleansing.

This is who MAGA is now.

Netanyahu "asks" the Israeli president Herzog to cancel his trial.
This is not a pardon request, in any meaningful sense. Netanyahu has not accepted any wrongdoing, and is not planning to step down.
There's a good chance Herzog accepts the request. Netanyahu made him president for this role.

VAERS is a database of self-reported diagnosis. Anyone can submit to it, as many times as they want, and nothing is verified. Anyone who has taken a Statistics 101 class can tell you that this creates a heavily biased (and scientifically unreliable) dataset.
Pretty much ANY statistic you see cited to frighten you about vaccines comes from the VAERS database. (Including the recent evidence-free missive from Vinay Prasad). Here's why VAERS can NEVER be a proper source for population-level vaccine risk estimates.

When a news outlet puts a reckless, undocumented claim by the Trump regime in the main headline and puts medical experts’ pushback in the smaller type, it’s making a choice. And not a good one.

Why? To "incentivize" research these companies did years ago.
