As I have so often said: No politician in any country should ever make more money or have more benefits than the minimum wage workers in said country (or state, I guess). That would get UBI and universal healthcare happening REAL fast.

Gods, what a terrible day. It's slowly turning around, though. Started it with an EKG and some real worries about my health; now, I have reached the conclusion that I need some time off. I will be rescheduling some things and taking on less work for a few months now to avoid actual hospitalization.

Not gonna lie, I HATE that reaction of "oh, you have it really easy then" to hearing I work from home. Like, sure, no commute, but I pretty much /always/ work. It never properly goes away, and the background radiation of stress is ever-present. Work is 10 meters from where I sleep at all times.

The Senate has just passed the military NDAA containing 2 anti-trans provisions: a surgery ban using federal funds (dependents too), and a sports ban on military academy spaces.

This will be the STARTING point for negotiations with the House, which has even worse provisions.

Only 20 Dems opposed.
