Hello, new followers! I am primarily a game music composer even though you might not know it looking at what I normally skeet. You're in for /a lot/ of very, very leftist politics, despair at how the game industry is destroying itself, and a ton of vitriol toward genAI. Welcome! 🌻
I am occasionally reminded of smoked salmon, at which point I feverishly seek it out and devour it as soon as possible

Holy shit
Just learned that Tommy Tallarico is now quietly starting to go by the name Sammy Salazar, and honestly, has anyone ever done a number on someone on the scale hbomb did on this dude? just legendary

Replaying FF7 Remake and holy shit, I somehow love it even more this time.

Gotta love how lives are being wrecked, industries are being stripmined, and the world is being torched, just so a few warped executives can tug their milky little twiglets over the impossible fantasy of a world where products are made for free and sold for thousands to unemployed people.

Pay artists to do actual fucking art for what you’re selling, Jesus fucking Christ.

Stop doing plagiarism. It’s not that hard to *not* do plagiarism.

You don’t get to promote yourself as a vegan friendly company when you’re using tech that’s literally killing the environment. Not without being massively disingenuous.

You also can’t pretend you’re pro-artist either. AI is artistic theft being used to try and make artists extinct. Fuck off.

Just a lil reminder to anyone who may need to hear it during sales season: please be nice to retail clerks and support staff. I'm part of the latter group, and you screaming at us because you're stressed sucks for everyone involved

I have been slowly and laboriously working on this one track for like two weeks now. I might attempt to finish it on stream tonight

I love how insane GUI programming is to a novice like myself. You learn the language and feel reasonably confident in the basics, so you go "I'd like a window with a button that does the thing" and then some sort of eldritch abyss opens beneath you
November 28, 2025 at 6:46 AM
I am still equal parts angry and amused by this. So many people who have already gotten used to pressing a button instead of paying artists have now gotten tired of pressing said button, and wants AI to do it instead.

Genuinely fucking unbelievable.
I cannot stop laughing. This is so indicative of what's wrong with these AI people and how they view art
He ran into a wall where the "make art" button wasn't satisfying because it wasn't actually making good enough art, and instead of trying new things he just requests a stronger button

Hey, @nature.com - we're having to fight a constant stream of misinformation from the right already, and they constantly scream about how no one should trust science. Could you perhaps fucking NOT POST AI SLOP in your fucking paper???
"Runctitiononal features"? "Medical fymblal"? "1 Tol Line storee"? This gets worse the longer you look at it. But it's got to be good, because it was published in Nature Scientific Reports last week: www.nature.com/articles/s41... h/t @asa.tsbalans.se

This looks like it'd be right up some of my friends' alleys. Go check it out!
The Excavation of Hob's Barrow is currently 50% off on GOG!

A bargain opportunity to play our folk horror adventure game inspired by movies such as The Wicker Man & the works of M.R. James, with a little pinch of Twin Peaks and Lovecraft.

Your art is not slop, your doodles are not slop, your left facing portrait with no background is not slop, please stop referring to your own works as slop because you are sending a message to other artists that their hard work is also slop. Save it for the AI plague that is actual slop.

This has been an utterly awful couple of months
November 27, 2025 at 10:24 AM
Every single time I see anyone rightfully call out someone for generating slop with genAI, the slop-maker always, ALWAYS, feels the need to respond with a goddamn essay. "No you see this took A LOT OF TIME, I spent HOURS crafting the right prompt, and then I changed things, so it's mine actually!!!"
November 26, 2025 at 7:27 AM
This.

Artists need to be paid. You may not like it (I've seen far too many people complain that anti-theft and anti-AI people "only care about money"), but you need to ask yourself: If artists stop making art because they can't afford to live, where will new art come from?
People who pirate books: “I just think art and literature should be FREE to everyone!”

Yes, I too would love to live in a world where art is accessible freely to all and yet artists are paid a living wage, but as this magical wagical pixie wixie land does not exist, please don’t steal from us.

Someone tried to argue at me the other day "artists shouldn't do art for money, they should do it for love of art."

I said sure, in an ideal world, yes. But we live in a world where that's not an option and people have bills.

"Then they should get a real job AND do art for free."

Sir. Just...what

feeling extremely something to see some peanut go "you haven't given people a reason to *not* pirate books" juxtaposed with said peanut talking about the kind of queer representation they want in media

unfun fact: a lot of queer creatives are broke as shattered windows, and piracy doesn't help

YouTube reminded me of this genuinely quite good cover I arranged and orchestrated of the Opening Movie from Vagrant Story, with tons of live musicians playing extremely well:

Genuinely - do not underestimate the pure joy of baking bread. The sheer, unadulterated feeling of accomplishment when you pull a baking tin from the oven with perfect little golden loaves, your home smells like baked bread, and you can then have warm delicious bread for breakfast - unbeatable.

If I’m understanding this correctly, X is owned by a white nationalist who pays poor people of color in developing countries to pretend to be working class white Americans to scare other white Americans into being afraid poor people of color from developing countries are going to ruin America?
