Clair Expedition 33?

I would've preferred Half-life 3.

😎😎😎

I'm being arrested for rhyming 'three' with 'three'?

Clair Expedition 33? No thanks

Genuinely embarrassed by The Game Awards

Is this really what you want the industry to be? A service for ads?

A pet peeve of mine is when people bring up Gustav Holst brilliant “The Planets” suite, and then call John Williams - of ALL film composers - a “hack”

“He’s a thief, listen to this section”

Like, have you heard of the history of music? Or art in general? It’s all built on top of what came before

Reminder that I'm still looking fulltime or contract work as a senior writer or narrative designer. If you need someone who can write sharp characters, poetic prose, and emotional stories, I'm available! You can find my portfolio here: www.hazelmonforton.com
It's #portfolioday! I'm presently a senior narrative designer at Blizzard, but before that I was at Bungie and Arkane. I wrote for the Writer's Guild award-nominated Dishonored: Death of the Outsider, and a bunch of critically acclaimed seasons and expansions in Destiny 2.

Proponents of AI seem to fundamentally misunderstand human beings and culture itself.

We crave connection with others, not individual isolation.

I talk to others about things we can all listen to, news we’ve all seen. With everything hyper-individualized, we become lonelier. It’s destined to fail
The Washington Post is launching a personalized AI podcast, saying users will be able to "shape their own briefing, select their topics, set their lengths, pick their hosts and soon even ask questions using our Ask The Post AI technology."

In Australia, the extremely conservative Abbott government added a summary to everyone’s tax receipts that detailed where their taxes got spent. It showed they were overwhelming spent on healthcare/medicare and instead of turning against healthcare spending, the public support for it grew.
Roger Marshall: "We want patients to become consumers again. We want patients to see what the actual prices are. We believe that if we would add the price tags to this bill, that it would save the country a trillion dollars a year."

This is where we're at now.

They're using the confinement box, one of the most horrific methods of CIA torture in the post-9/11 black sites, against migrants now. This is the direct result of the lack of consequences for the architects of the torture program. Either there will be criminal penalties for this or it will expand.

Amnesty International, interviewing migrant detainees, identifies use of the confinement box. There can be no denying it is a torture prison

Awards season is gonna be full of a lot of white people saying whatever the equivalent of “I’d have voted for Obama three times if I could have” for the movie they like the most this year

Which is good, because diversity is good, but also, watch for all the “you’re a bigot if you don’t like X” talk

A lot of these tech ceos need to be outright thrown in prison for what they’ve done and continue to do.

Not that NCFOM is ambiguous (it’s not, though in the past I’d have called Tommy Lee Jones’ monologue an optimistic ending. Now, not so much) but the kind of film that causes a discussion over interpretation is often a much braver piece of work for it

Though I did not like House Of Dynamite’s ending
