the funny thing about the dan and phil thing for me personally is that i am dan's age so it was never the "omg they raised me" sentiment a lot of people have. i was just always a fan in the way i'm a fan of a lot of people in my age range. so this is like, parasocial pride in how well they are doing

I think what's impressive about TRON is that, visually, it's still so much more interesting than any of it's sequels. It's crazy that they tried update this digital world by making it as 'realistically rendered' as possible. It's a complete misunderstanding of the original's charm.
