In the last 6 years poverty has decreased by 18m and the minimum wage has tripled in Mexico.

All thanks to its Socialist Government.

Mexico is booming because the billionaires are NOT in control.

On this we agree- and to further democratise UK politics how about respecting the Scottish peoples right to self determination when they select parties on a proportional system that campaigned in a Holyrood election for an independence referendum and win the election ???

What a tube you are. He’s alleged to have embezzled funds FROM the SNP members all of whom want independence. If true it’ he was working against the SNP and independence
Whoops! Turns out it was not just a motorhome....
Wonder how the National will cover this?

I doubt it will put a dent in the sanctimonious tone of current SNP politicians - but it gives the PM something for next PMQs

Former SNP chief executive Peter Murrell accused of embezzling £459,000 over 12-year period
He is accused of illicitly purchasing items including luxury goods, jewellery, cosmetics, two cars and a motorhome.

Jim Ratcliffe abandoned workers in Grangemouth and fled to Monaco to avoid paying taxes in the UK.

His hypocrisy knows no bounds.

Another super-rich man blaming immigrants for the problems caused by billionaires.

The SNP is working hard to reduce the cost of living, and this is the latest example.

Further to my earlier post- how would the left of the Labour Party in Scotland react to some sort of pact with Fascists? What does history tell us and them ?

I get Mike’s points here but would the Slab membership be ok with a grand coalition with fascists ? How would the remaining MSPs live with coalescing with Nazis ?

Ratcliffe is where populism leads. To multimillionaires spouting ignorant racist horseshit that divides us but unites the far right in their cynical bid to exploit prejudice for power. Ratcliffe will just shrug from his tax haven home. He doesn’t care. Farage laps it up. Everyone else loses.

If Ratcliffe wants to talk about what damages the UK then he should look at his role in creating unemployment in communities, ending vital national industry & reducing Scotland's economy by £400m a year.

The enemy to working class people travels by private jet, not on a dinghy.

Ed Miliband says Starmer wants to end ‘class divide’ in push to move past leadership turmoil – UK politics live
The prime minister is hosting a meeting of his cabinet as he attempts to push forward following a bruising week for his leadership And here are some more lines from Ed Miliband’s inteviews this morning. Miliband, the energy secretary, rejected suggestions that Keir Starmer woud not be in office for much longer. When this was put to him on BBC Breakfast, he replied: “I don’t agree with that.” He told the BBC’s Nick Robinson that that Robinson was “a bit too far” when he said that Miliband’s call for more “boldness” made it sound as if he wanted Labour to be a bit more like Zack Polanski, the Green leader. He said that he personally had had “very limited contact” with Peter Mandelson. He ruled out standing for the Labour leadership again, telling Sky News: “I’m not going to run.” One leftwing Labour source told The Telegraph: “Everyone from the PM down to the most junior bag carrier knows who was behind the McChicken Coup. And his name rhymes with Les Weeting.” The McChicken Coup refers to apparent efforts to use the ousting of Morgan McSweeney, Sir Keir’s chief of staff, to force the Prime Minister to step aside. Wes did not ask Anas to do this; he did not coordinate with Anas on this. Anas is the leader of the Scottish Labour party; he is his own man, and Wes has the highest respect for him. Move on dot org. I mean, let’s just get on. Let’s just move past all this. Come on. I’m saying to our colleagues – don’t focus on yourselves. Focus on the country. That’s what Keir’s message was last night and he’s dead right. Continue reading...

Call them out got what they are - Fascists
This is what we're up against. Bangor University, that fine and noble institution where I've spoken twice, nearly 150 years young and still going strong. The sheer hatred they reserve for us shows what could happen after 2029, but also that they're frightened of knowledge and learning.

Sarwar’s Gamble | Unless something dramatic changes in the next few days, it seems that Anas Sarwar has gambled everything in the most astonishing act of political misjudgment possible. It may be that it is he and not Keir Starmer who will have to resign. bellacaledonia.org.uk/2026/02/09/s...

This can be true, as can ‘just not at this time’.

Cynical I know. I hope they do well in England along with the Green Party, but I won’t vote for them in Scotland

In the UK it is now 'too expensive' to diagnose people with ADHD because it costs over £1000.

For a person who is paid about £25 an hour to work for 2 hours doing it.

That is another brilliant benefit of privatisation.

This is overt racism. Full stop. There’s no ‘misinterpretation’ and no excuse. This is who he is, who he’s always been, and why he should never be anywhere near power again. And there’s a reason the tapes from The Apprentice have never been released.
