Every time living standards fall, Nigel Farage blames migration.

And every time, Keir Starmer nods along.

People are struggling with the cost of living and blaming migration won’t fix that.

Scotland deserves better - a fairer, wealthier, welcoming future with independence.

A quick break from conference speech prep to cheer on the national team, with my son Matthew.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇵🇸 Thank you, Ambassador Zomlot.

Scotland will always proudly stand with the people of Palestine, in the pursuit of peace, justice and a lasting two-state solution.

Westminster caused this cost of living crisis - and they’re unable and unwilling to fix it.

Independence is how we raise your living standards, grow our economy and make Scotland’s energy wealth work for the people who live here.

Really privileged to meet Sid Khan today - a remarkable Scot who joined the Global Sumud Flotilla in solidarity with the people of Palestine.

His compassion and courage in standing up for peace and justice speak to who we are as a nation. 🇵🇸🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Scotland is ready for the fresh start of independence - and today, our party has shown it’s united and determined to deliver it.

Together, we’ll put Scotland’s future where it belongs: firmly in Scotland’s hands. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

We’re here to build a better future for the people who live here - an independent Scotland.

Fantastic energy at #SNP25 this morning and it’s great to meet members from up and down our beautiful country.

Arrived in Aberdeen for #SNP25.

This conference is about Scotland’s future - and who gets to decide it.

Together, let’s finish the job. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

More money in your pocket, more opportunities, fewer emissions.

I’m proud we introduced free bus travel for young people under 22 - and as of today, over 250 million free journeys have been made across Scotland.

Together with scrapping peak rail fares, we’re making your commutes cheaper.
johnswinney.bsky.social
Do you feel better off after austerity, Brexit and rising bills under Westminster?

With independence, we can raise living standards and build an economy that works for Scotland.
johnswinney.bsky.social
Quite a turnaround, that’s for sure!
johnswinney.bsky.social
Never in doubt 😉

Well done to Steve Clarke and the team! What a result! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Best of luck to the Tartan Army as they face Greece in the big match tonight.

The whole country is behind you - let’s hear that Hampden roar! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿⚽

I want to live in Scotland free from child poverty, where we look after the vulnerable, where people feel part of strong, supportive communities.

Organisations like Fresh Start in north Edinburgh are vital partners in building that fairer, more caring Scotland.

Thank you for all you do. 💛

My statement on the very welcome news of a ceasefire in Gaza.

Rising bills. Falling living standards. The UK economic model is broken.

Independence is the fresh start for Scotland - so we can build a wealthier, fairer nation shaped by the people who live here.

Scotland has enormous resources and huge potential, but we are being held back by Westminster governments that treat us like an afterthought.

It’s time for a fresh start. An independent Scotland.

Today I have published our latest paper on what it could look like: www.gov.scot/publications...
johnswinney.bsky.social
Independence is about giving Scotland a fresh start - and a chance to build an economy that works for us.

A future where all decisions are made by people who live here.

I’m in the stunning National Portrait Gallery this morning, where I will set out more at 9am.

On the second anniversary of the heinous terror attack on 7 October, we remember the victims and stand united with Jewish communities in Scotland and around the world.

We must confront the evil of antisemitism, build lasting peace in the Middle East and ensure humanity prevails.
johnswinney.bsky.social
Independence puts Scotland’s vast energy resources - and our future - back in Scotland’s hands.

Lower bills, a fairer society and a fresh start away from the Westminster chaos.

After the horrific Manchester synagogue attack, I want to promise Scotland’s Jewish communities that we will take every step necessary to ensure their safety.

Scotland must stand as one, rejecting the poison of antisemitism, racism and hate.

What are we doing to help with the cost of living?

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Scrapped peak rail fares
🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Free prescriptions and eye tests
🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Lower water bills and council tax than rest of the UK

While Westminster governments deliver cuts and chaos, the SNP is delivering for Scotland.

Horrified and heartbroken by the attack on a synagogue in Manchester, on Yom Kippur, the holiest time in the Jewish calendar.

My thoughts are with the victims, their families and all Jewish communities.

Antisemitism is an evil we must confront and stand resolutely against.

Today, energy bills increase again across the UK.

Labour said they’d fix this - but on their watch, our energy bills are going up.

With independence, we can use our energy wealth to benefit people and bring bills down. That’s the fresh start Scotland needs. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
