I wrote a thread in 2021 imagining life in Nazi America as a thought experiment. The goal was to get people to think about how it would affect *them* and not just think about it historically hoping maybe they’d rage against it. Oh well…

It’s the only thing I wanted to salvage from the old place.
As we endure this painfully slow slide into fascism, let's imagine Nazi
 America.
 (1) Our biggest celebrities will be creativity-deficient hacks like Baio and
Sorbo. Think their new sitcoms will be funny?
With all the good writers black-listed, Tomi Lahren will be pulling Emmys.

I hope that’s true in reality and not just in cyberspace.

I’ve been a legit @democrats.org since 1990.

F*ck the Democrats. If I vote for any Democrats ever again, it’ll be incidental, not purposeful. I will *not* give them money, I will *not* work for them.

I’m about the candidates and coalitions now. Give me multiple parties or none at all.

The Dem establishment appears to be putting its thumb hard on the scales against Graham Platner:

The DSCC (Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee) has formed a joint fundraising committee with the campaign of Janet Mills.

It’s called “Maine Senate Victory 2026”:

lol, what makes you think the way *you* think is the way 99% of people think about…anything?
elizabethbennettjd.bsky.social
Great. Let that dude pay the troops then.
elizabethbennettjd.bsky.social
How did they confirm they were carrying narcotics, precisely?

Is that this new “thermal narco-imaging” tech I’ve been hearing so much about?
elizabethbennettjd.bsky.social
I was right to mute you before. You’re just trolling. Bye now.
elizabethbennettjd.bsky.social
Have you ever even attended a precinct convention?
elizabethbennettjd.bsky.social
Don’t you love people who just shrug and say it’s this way b/c this is the way it is?

No, motherf*cker, it’s this way b/c YOU let it be this way. I’ve worked my whole career to change aspects of these things. What has this guy done but be complacent, FFS?
elizabethbennettjd.bsky.social
The electoral college is also the normal process.

Let’s never change that either even though it’s a product of slavery and f*cks us almost every time.

“Politicians are allowed to decide behind closed doors who will be the presidential candidate on behalf of their monied interests!”
elizabethbennettjd.bsky.social
Um, elections are about persuading the people, in a democracy anyway. Turns out we didn’t have one of those, and it was Obama who opened the door and his boy Biden who rolled out the carpet for the fascists.

Again, not understanding how you’re not seeing this but don’t really care at this point.
elizabethbennettjd.bsky.social
The primary process serves the party and its interests, not the people.

We should do something about that.

Or not, whatever.
elizabethbennettjd.bsky.social
There IS something wrong with party elites choosing the candidate. If you don’t see that, I don’t know what to say.

Sanders dropped out in early April, but the rest had declared Biden the winner even before Super Tuesday. A deal had been struck well before. Nobody had clambered for Biden. Ever.

I don’t remember her trying for universal healthcare. I remember the buzzword was “managed” healthcare.

Either way, everybody freaked out that the wife was doing policy, and they threw her back upstairs.
elizabethbennettjd.bsky.social
Probably not like Chick-fil-A or Hobby Lobby or any company that causes rhetorical liberal tears to fall.

That is, of course, the highest good.
elizabethbennettjd.bsky.social
Right? His waddle has a vagina, and you can see the Truth of his baldiness.
elizabethbennettjd.bsky.social
Primary voters didn’t. Only 4 of the smallest states had a say before the powers called it so everyone else dropped out.
elizabethbennettjd.bsky.social
I wonder what the dollar amount is at which a decent human turns into a sociopath.

Somewhere in the hundreds of millions, or less, do you think?

Proving at every turn that Trump runs a regime of the bullies, for the billionaires. San Franciscans know what they need - a city where people across races, backgrounds and neighborhoods have what they need.

“This city is a complicated place, but I’ve found two truths: The Golden Age is a myth and San Francisco is never “over.””

Great read from @peterhartlaub.bsky.social, San Francisco’s historian/hype-man extraordinaire.

The original mistake was the powers picking *him* in 2020.

We can never let that happen again.
elizabethbennettjd.bsky.social
Biden’s Senate Whispering was particularly shitty, too.

Also, his protection of our democracy.
elizabethbennettjd.bsky.social
And Dems claim they require a supermajority or they they just don’t have enough power to accomplish anything.

We need officials who will do the work we elect them to do, even if it’s difficult. It’s *going to be difficult* for the foreseeable future.
