I wrote a thread in 2021 imagining life in Nazi America as a thought experiment. The goal was to get people to think about how it would affect *them* and not just think about it historically hoping maybe they’d rage against it. Oh well…

It’s the only thing I wanted to salvage from the old place.

Democrats constantly refusing to impeach Trump are actual traitors to the constitution. Trump is EXACTLY why impeachment is in the constitution. To remove an actual criminal from office when they keep doing criminal bullshit.

God I wish we had a real opposition party.

@amo.house.gov, I’ve asked you repeatedly—here and through email and questions via town hall—to explain your unwillingness to support impeachment of the criminal president (and his criminal cabinet). You have *never* given it. Now you’ve voted to table, again.

How can we reelect you?

So Democrats also have zero interest in holding Trump accountable.

Still.
This bit about oh no we have need to do "serious" extensive investigations first is belied by the fact that the last impeachment they all voted for did none of that. Sometimes the matter is clear-cut and doesn't need dithering months and months of inquiry first, the facts are simple and known.
Significant statement from Jeffries and House Democratic leaders saying they will vote “present” on the motion to table Al Green’s resolution to impeach President Trump. They say they’re “laser-focused on fighting to lower the high cost of living” plus on health care and corruption.

WTAF?
From 2005 to 2012, one CBP officer or agent was arrested for corruption, crimes, or misconduct EVERY SINGLE DAY. By 2019, it had slowed to just one every 35 hours. Still a huge problem:
“A U.S. Customs and Border Protection agent allegedly used his gun and badge to force his way into hotel rooms and rob and sexually assault at least four prostitutes in Chicago’s suburbs in 2022, according to federal charges made public Tuesday.”

These monsters are trying to bury every single norm that made America a beacon of freedom.
“She showed up as scheduled, and when she arrived, officers were asking everyone what country they were from, and if they said a certain country, they were told to step out of line and that their oath ceremonies were canceled.”

A marvel of modern technology. I really enjoy using this radio program and then researching the area in which a station is located. Very cool.
I'm no purist when it comes to participating in things we all know are bad. I try to reduce my harm but I'm an honest hypocrite.
I won't judge you for still using Spotify, just try this rad alternative. I'm listening to music from Dar es Salaam. Where will you listen to? radio.garden/listen/furah...

The military has a duty to refuse unlawful orders, but Congress has a duty to remove from office a president and secretary who would issue such orders. There is something off about members of Congress talking about the former while refusing to say the latter, the part that's actually their job here.

Wrote what is maybe my favorite story in a while: I wrote about the suburb of Berlin where Germans get together at Old Texas Town and pretend to live in a Wild West Texas. Now, it's going to be demolished for a data center: www.chron.com/culture/arti...
Old Town Texas is a slice of Texas in Germany. It's about to be destroyed.
Here, Germans wear Stetsons and line dance. But their little slice of Texas may soon be no more.

Elon Musk donated $277 million to Trump so he could steal the federal government’s data, dismantle the nation’s infrastructure, and stop foreign aid from going to nonwhite people. It’s a quid pro quo breathtaking in scope, corruption, and damage, & completely unprecedented in American history.
Bye bye, “DOGE”.

It no longer exists as a “centralized entity”, according to the Office of Personnel Management.

To all of you who criticized TX Dems when they went back, I hope you get it now. They were *never* going to win that battle, but they may have saved the Republic.

Have some humility, and learn from this. United we stand, don’t be a dick about things you don’t understand.
James Talarico: My fellow Texas Democrats and I broke quorum to shine a national spotlight on Trump’s redistricting power grab. We inspired other states and millions of Americans to join this fight. This tremendous court decision is why we fight back

everyone's talking about how bright and charming zohran must be, which is true, but then you remember the spider-brained cryptkeepers trump's surrounded himself with since '15 and realize a single smile from mamdani must have hit like barbecue spare ribs down the gullet of a 12th century peasant.
