The same ICE agent who handcuffed Ald. Jessie Fuentes has been filmed in at least 3 other violent encounters, including the viral arrest of a woman in Waukegan in front of the mayor.

“He’s obviously a danger to individuals and particularly women," Fuentes said.

True. Of course there was a political point many were making. Similar things happened in Germany. Public discourse in 30s/40s could be overloaded, baroque adjective-dripping. Faulkner was the good part of that. I can see how people wanted to cut through the bs, be direct, austere, pure, democratic.

I think it was Kendhi who came from judging at a little festival and bemoaned the number of possibly groundbreaking 200pp novels trapped inside 500pp.

Editors getting laid off everywhere (TV, film, news, lit) is a major part of why we are in this current mess, IMHO.
