Did you catch the Guardians/Tigers game? It's literally on Heebee. It's on Poode with ads. It's literally on Dippy. You can probably find it on Weeno. Dude it's on Gumpy. It's a Pheebo original. It's on Poop. You can watch it on Poob. Log onto Poob right now. Poob has it for you. Poop has it for you

Playing as England for my first campaign and this game is hellbent of making the 100 Years War happen. "Come on lad, don't you wish to seek the crown of France?" No! Idgaf about continental Europe and there's no way I'm poking the Big Blue Blob. Tough shit for the rest of Europe I guess 🤷

Neat, I'm still trying to figure out how I feel at the prospect of Link talking. I don't even know why I'm saying "prospect" come to think of it. Link's gonna talk. That's so fucking weird
We now have an official look at Bo Bragason as Princess Zelda & Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Link in the upcoming Legend of Zelda live-action movie. (Releasing May 7, 2027)

What do you think of their look?

It feels odd holding this position, but I am still of the opinion that moving the start back will ultimately be to the games detriment. It's a game about the Early Modern Era. Why start in the Late Medieval Period especially when most players rarely make it to endgame anyways?
My review of Europa Universalis V is up! This is a game that knows its for sickos and caters to sickos (and aspiring sickos) almost exclusively, but if you're the kind of person who thinks they would enjoy it, I think you'll be pleased. It is a bit underbaked though.

Europa Universalis 5 Review - IGN
Tuning issues aside, this might be the most on-paper impressive historical strategy game of all time.

Nice trip down memory lane. Remember when this series seemed like the absolute cutting edge of gaming. Wonder if there's a way to get any of them running on modern machines. I have Freespace on Steam rn so I figure those two are probably good
A few of the many user interface changes that Descent went through. From February 94, to April 94, to June 94. From the Volition collection at The Strong.

As I listen to other teams' broadcasts here at Game 162 I'm reminded that every team has some sort of official hotdog brand. And it gets me wondering if, like the Guardians with Sugardale Dogs, they are also complete ass.

My most Boomer-coded opinion is that TV shows should release one season every year. On what planet is Wednesday season 2 going to be worth almost 3 years' wait? I don't understand what's driving these multi-year lead times because it's not like they're spending that time on the writing.

My plan to beat DKC1, DKC2, and Tropical Freeze before the new Kong game is one step closer

Summers as a teacher mean I get to finally crack away at my backlog. Already rolled credits on the Great Circle (7/10) and closing in on P5:R which seems like it'll stick the landing and be a 10/10. Hoping I'll be able to clear at least a few more 😬

Teens & 20-somethings think 30-40 year olds are uncool? Wow this is a brand new phenomenon.

Watching my brother play Freespace was a real defining moment in my love for this hobby. It was just the coolest thing I'd ever seen, and its really cool this stuff can be preserved and remembered

3 boxes grabbed my attention at the store as a kid: Fable, Two Worlds, and Oblivion. Over time I managed to convince my mom to get each.

Fable was the first and man that game ruled.

Next was Two Worlds, awful game, but I loved it's open world.

But Oblivion is what hooked me forever.

Coolest thing I've seen at Salute today: this minis version of the classic early-80s Atari arcade game Battlezone. Not the digital-to-tabletop adaptation I'd expected to find, but wow.

I hate these memes. Not because they're inaccurate, but they reveal that the world around is so much more fragile and stupid than I could ever have imagined.

Wonder how Zoe Quinn feels, knowing that 'dumping a bad boyfriend' would be what began the political careers of a the fourth reich's advisors
they called it GamerGate because it opened a portal to a hell.

Anita Sarkeessian did nothing wrong.

I have tried over and over again to play Mario Sunshine, and I think I've finally reached the uncomfortable conclusion that I straight up don't like it. How does movement feel clunkier than Mario 64?!

I was a KS backer for Kingdom Come Deliverance back in HS and my meager PC barely hit 10 FPS on the demo they released. So it was very satisfying when last night I started another playthrough w/ my 4090 and hit accept to the "These settings are meant for future hardware only" w/o any hesitation

Tracing the origin of this is fascinating.

- 00s/10s exec panic about Gamestop used-games sales
- exec mandates for replayability, DLC schedules, and/or subscriptions
- slow morph into Season Passes/live service

15 years later, "replayability" means Fortnite-like "play all the time forever".
The idea that story-driven games aren’t replayable is so strange to me. I eventually bounce off every multiplayer game because I get bored, but I go back to story games again and again just like rewatching a favorite movie, or to experience something new

running Protoweb on my 233hz Pentium 2 with Windows 98. Videos were shockingly watchable when using only the 'Basic Flash Player' setting, and Runescape worked!

would have taken more pictures but my ass was getting sore from sitting in that old chair, so maybe another time.
