This is the largest transit expansion in North America. In this @macleans.bsky.social Magazine feature, I argue that other cities should be looking at the advantages of light metros like the REM:

The most powerful man in anti-science.

Fixed it.
Over many interviews, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. told Michael Scherer about how he plans to remake America’s public-health system. Can he lead the scientific establishment he’s spent much of his life crusading against?

The death of browsing is part of the reason art is the way it is now. Our opinions are largely fed to us by algorithms. Spending a spare 15 minutes wandering around a bookstore or comic shop or video rental place was how you found stuff you wouldn't ordinarily pick up and thereby expanded your taste
Bookselling is like the most "people go to the store and buy what looks cool to them without a particular agenda" type business left, and your purchases have a huge influence on what is ordered, what is displayed, and what is recommended.

A surprisingly nice day in Vancouver. Celebrated with coffee and a quite authentic pasteis de nata at the Union Market in Strathcona.

City trucks have been going around #EastVan streets cleaning up all the rotting leaf mush. They make a hell of a racket but at least the rain won't be pooling and drains won't be clogging.
