It is courage, but it’s ordinary courage. What Minneapolis is doing can happen anywhere. The alternative—ignoring the thousands of masked men with machine guns kidnapping and killing in broad daylight—is simply impossible.
If (when?) this happens in my city, may I have a tenth of this courage.
Minneapolis and Saint Paul have basically mobilized into a war economy of mutual aid and non-violent defense. I’ve never seen anything like it, even during Covid. People who barely vote are guarding their schools from ICE and doing the shopping for neighbors in hiding.

The soldiers are from the 11th Airborne Division, based at Joint Base Elmendorf--Richardson, one of the Army's premier infantry formations.

Just did the activate new credit card/cut up the old one, and I'm reminded of a nurse I used to know who'd cut up her credit cards and put the pieces in the sharps containers at work. She figured if you were that brave or desperate, good luck to you!

There's a pattern of fascism rising after major pandemics in history. Eugenics gets people thinking certain groups of folks just deserve to die and people become horrific monsters spiraling out from there.
It's just history depressingly repeating itself again.
