My debut poetry collection, alongside the wonderful @quotidianwriter.bsky.social releases in September!

THE SHIP AND THE STORM is a conversation in poetry, as we delve into subjects ranging from loss and memory to war and nature, and I really hope you'll give it a read.
When I read this, my first thought was that this was a bit, but then I got the sinking feeling that this is something that actually happened, and... *sigh* yep.
I know it's a fool's errand to expect anything from the media but "President posts video of himself dumping diarrhea on America" is an important thing to call attention to for a dozen reasons
Drinking bourbon and making gumbo. Life is good.
These violent delights have violent ends.
Christian nationalist podcaster Joshua Haymes says Christians must be willing to defend the institution of slavery because the Bible makes it clear that "it is not inherently evil to own another human being." www.peoplefor.org/rightwingwat...
Bluesky really does have the juice, I guess.

*touches earpiece* We are now receiving word that a large contingent of armed Welshmen have approached the gates of Liverpool, declaring they are marching for York and warning they will burn down the homes and fields of anyone along the way who tries to stop them.

definitely become a little more small c conservative with regard to culture (like art and shit, not stuff like abortion) in that I think if everyone is trying to be transgressive and bohemian you just end up with a sort of muddled mess of "Bold" slop. good disruptive art needs a straight man
You either die a William B. Fuckley or live long enough to become a William F. Buckley is what I'm hearing.
I have DM'd people before and just outright asked "Are you doing all right? Because I'm worried about you."
"You know why? Because he doesn't want to fuck around with the United States."
The President just said "fuck" on national television in a press conference. Setting aside the, uh, lack of decorum, does the FCC fine him for indecency? Is that still a thing?
Also: can we get a fact check? Who exactly does Musk count among his friends? I genuinely didn't think he had any--sycophants, employees, and rivals, sure, but people he considers *friends?*
Prometheus is the classic example of Campbell's "failed hero!" He gains the hero's boon without actually doing the work! That's why he fails, because he cheats and doesn't really do what it takes to--oh, I see why Silicon Valley likes him so much now.
(Also want to clarify that I disagree with their framing.)
These people can't grasp that even in their OWN FRAME their approach is wrong--danger, loss, and the possibility of failure is inherent in the undertaking of every war or revolution! Every act of war is a risky roll of the iron dice.

Yet they're afraid to do *anything* that might entail risk.
Good point, but my mind immediately went to a *different* dictatorship:
Whatever are you talking about?
Whatever are you talking about?
I played some years and years ago, but found that if I want to play something that involved and fiddly, I have to like it more than I do Battletech.
Each day, we climb closer to the top of Stupid Mountain, but will we ever reach peak stupidity? Perhaps it is merely a dream, a goal unobtainable in our current state--but fear not, Silicon Valley will never stop trying to ascend to the very zenith of idiocy.
Conservative-leaning tech investors are racing to build a new American colossus, and they want something much, much bigger than the Statue of Liberty. Meet the new monuments men of the tech right and their plans for statue-maxing:

America’s Tech Right Is Obsessed With Building Giant Statues
With proposals for a 450-foot statue of Prometheus on Alcatraz and a 650-foot George Washington, MAGA adherents are racing to build America’s largest statue.

You'd probably create a new Latin word for whatever horrifyingly novel method of capital punishment the Romans would invent just for him.
Every day brings a new low.
I am familiar with the term "a lack of self-awareness," but is it possible to have *negative* self-awareness somehow?
"I was married, but I’m not married anymore. Women don't like the vehicle," says Roger Davis, a Cybertruck owner.

Davis also uses the Grok feature in the car: "Her name is Aura, and I use her as a therapist."
