On 2/8, #LACoFD firefighters responded to a commercial structure fire directly across the street from Fire Station 30.

A firefighter on duty at the station saw smoke coming from the building and initiated the response, enabling a swift response time.

#longbeach fire has a pretty good brush incident going along the 405 at Clark and Vernon.

Approximately 150ft area of palm trees and brush all lit up against the sound wall when first units arrived on scene.

The good news is that winds are negligible.

A new fire that started near the Palm Beach-Broward County line is rapidly growing south-southeast into the Everglades and Francis S Taylor WMA. The state stopped releasing water from Lake O earlier in the winter due to the worsening drought, and fire danger is historically high for DJFM.

Zircon crystals are nearly indestructible, and are some of the only things to survive the hellish pressure and heat of the Haldean Eon, when the earth was formed. The oldest zircons are found in Jack Hills, Australia, where our specimen was found. It may be small, but it's 4.4 billion years old!
