Didn't worry, we opened up the panel and turned it off. There's no way anytime could also open up the panel and turn it back on.

My book is officially on sale tomorrow. I am so grateful for the support of amazing union leaders like @flyingwithsara.bsky.social.

Plus, if you buy one and see me, you can an illegible autograph just like she got!

An optimistic book in a grueling time. @dskamper.bsky.social gives us hope with stories of strategic fights led with the awakening of worker power. Solidarity is essential and so is reading this book. I was honored to write the foreword of Who✊s Got the Power?
Cover of Dave Kamper’s book, “Who’s Got the Power? The Resurgence of American Unions” Title page with a very kind note from Dave to Sara. Kind note covered by humbled Sara, but Solidarity with Dave’s signature is plain to see.

I received urgent messages from @tombasgen.bsky.social that he had just gotten out of 'One Battle After Another' and we ended up talking about it for 25 min on the phone.

while 'young republicans are literal nazis' is well known to folks here, the extent of it is surprisingly not that commonly known even in media and analyst circles, let alone normal people.

POLITICO: “.. They referred to Black people as monkeys and ‘the watermelon people’ and mused about putting their political opponents in gas chambers. They talked about raping their enemies .. and lauded Republicans who they believed support slavery.

BREAKING: Major clashes in southeast Chicago this pm.

DHS agents who crashed a car had eggs thrown at them. According to ABC7, they then fired pepper balls at local residents. It’s now a scene of flying rocks & tear gas.

Chicago was never a war zone. But Trump’s militia is turning it into one.

I think all fiction was better off when there was a clear, and fairly wide, demarcation between Children's Literature vs Adult Literature.

Great speech. I love that he starts it with an updated version of "And I welcome their hatred!":

"Billionaires ... have poured millions of dollars into this race because they say that we pose an existential threat.

And I am here to admit something. They are right."
Zohran Mamdani: “Our Time Is Now”
Last night at a campaign rally, Zohran Mamdani addressed his supporters: “For too long, we have tried not to lose. Now, it is time that we win.”

The contrast is r/composting where everyone is cheering each other on and happily sharing productive tips. The only time I've seen someone scolded there was when a poster bought a bunch of perfectly good limes to add to the heap and everyone was upset because the food could have been consumed first

Years ago my old brewery made an incredible Whitbier, a personal all time fav. And yet we could barely give it away. From what I can tell Belgian styles just do not have traction in MN. Didn't matter how good it was, didn't matter how much I liked it. The collective palette was simply not there.

It is funny how the Speaker of the House has been quoted several times having strong opinions about a Super Bowl Halftime show, then gets asked about the shutdown federal government being run by a mad king and scheming vizirs, and he just goes "Not sure! I'm still getting caught up on emails today!"
