Corrupted password lock bricked my phone so hard I had to re-flash the firmware from recovery to get it to boot. Now I think we're back up and running.

I've stopped doing the badblocks thing and I just tell them to do extended SMART test with smartctl. AFAIK it's the same thing but handled entirely within the drive's controller, which makes it a lot faster and non-blocking.
