It took me two full days after leaving Minnesota to stop clenching my jaw, looking over my shoulder and be able to hold a normal conversation. I saw some posts about the collective trauma from what’s happening at home and man. I think they were right.

My neighborhood was less busy yesterday, largely because ICE was focused on the suburbs.
This thread correlates with my experience: they grab people, no warrant, no rights read and randomly. There’s no justification for it and it hasn’t let up, despite the claim of pulling out 700 agents.

It feels genuinely crazy-making to see discourse about whether things have drawn down in Minnesota when yesterday was another record for most abductions I’ve seen/heard firsthand accounts of in my hometown. (It might have been a general record, I don’t have that info. It was a lot.)

I have appreciated Amanda’s efforts here so I’m disappointed she’s wrapping things up by spreading misinformation. I can assure you as someone whose neighborhood has been crawling with ICE in recent days that we are not in the “aftermath” of anything.

Same. I get that it's technically illegal, but the city enterprise (Frey) has offered *zero* solutions at best, and at worst, harassed ICE protestors.
I'll stop supporting the blockades when the city comes up with a better idea of how to protect our neighbors.

You’ll never hear me shit on the blockades. They’re working and I think it is genuinely the right move with how large a presence we have out there.
The blockade received enormous support from cars driving by and visitors attending the vigil nearby in Powderhorn Park. Numbers grew throughout the day - with the largest group at the end. The blockade ended around 4:45 when protestors collectively decided to disband for the evening.
