This was my sports experience as a trans girl: I played basketball and football in high school. I played on boys’ teams as I was pre transition and was still desperately trying to prove myself as “man enough” for my male classmates. Obviously I was never going to accomplish that.

His parents know I’m trans. He told me early on his mom was struggling a little with it. But she pulled me aside before dinner and gave me the biggest, most genuine hug and told me she’s never seen him so happy. And I told her I feel the safe way. I just so badly want these people to be my family.

I had been pretty stressed out the last couple weeks with studying and preparing for clinical exams. Woke up to a text this morning- he scheduled for me to get a massage. First time in forever that I've had one. OMG- it was so amazing.
