This was my sports experience as a trans girl: I played basketball and football in high school. I played on boys’ teams as I was pre transition and was still desperately trying to prove myself as “man enough” for my male classmates. Obviously I was never going to accomplish that.

The best way to describe it: the Lions are a high wire act. High risk, high reward. They are absolutely capable of winning a Super Bowl, but they have almost no margin for error when they face good opponents with the style they play.

Most based Lions take as I'm basking in my irritation: The Lions are a really good team that often seems great because they are so good at extending drives and converting on 4th down. The cracks show when they don't convert on 4th. Injuries suck, but everyone deals with it. #onepride

Tigers ousted from the playoffs in a marathon, 15-inning game on Friday, bookended by a disgusting Lions loss to KC on Sunday night.

I cannot remember a worse weekend to be a Detroit sports fan.

Feels like more of the same. "Skipper reported," "your receiver was short on a play we called a TD, and there's a mandatory 10 second runoff, so you lose," "of course Dez Bryant can run out on the field and lobby the referees until they pick up a clear PI flag."

(and you'll forgive me not trusting what the TV guys say, particularly after Mike Tirico claimed the ball Travis Kelce caught, where it clearly touches the ground without his hand under it bobbling it all the way, was a catch as he shuttled to commercial, never to speak of it again.)

Also- you will never convince me that the refs somehow missed the motion in real time (when they should of thrown a flag) and then magically realized it happened after. Someone upstairs told them. Either stuff is reviewable or it's not. This is a joke.

I need some unbiased #NFL guru over here, maybe @dustyevely.bsky.social? While the TV guys last night indicated it was OK, I can't find anything in the NFL rules that permit officials to call a touchdown on a non-reviewable play, and then huddle, and then throw a flag and take points of the board.

Remember that one game when Golden Tate caught a TD, they called it back and then declared a mandatory 10 second run off and the game ended and we lost? Weird how the rules can be bent for some but not others.

Whenever I see him, I think of the video clip of several protestors in kayaks, trying to reason with him while he speaks to them from the back of his $700,000 yacht. Hardly someone from the middle.

The one I normally have is zero sugar and 10 calories- this one is 54g of sugar and 230 calories! Admittedly, neither is probably all that good for me, and I should cut back. But 54g of sugar first thing in the morning is bonkers.

Also- this is way more sour grapes than anything- but taking points off the board after you've already called a touchdown when you didn't throw a flag for illegal motion is pretty suspect.

It is absolutely absurd that that team somehow went the entire game without a penalty (particularly because there are at least two blatant holds on Chiefs players on two drives that ended in points). Also- that Travis Kelce catch that wasn't even close to being a catch was pretty awful.

I want to put this on front street: the Detroit Lions did not play well enough to win last night. When you play a style of offense that includes going on fourth down as much as they do, they have to convert. No excuse on why the Lions lost. But I have plenty to say about how the Chiefs won.
