This was my sports experience as a trans girl: I played basketball and football in high school. I played on boys’ teams as I was pre transition and was still desperately trying to prove myself as “man enough” for my male classmates. Obviously I was never going to accomplish that.
Thank you all for your suggestions! She just wanted to be treated like a grown up. She had lots of questions (none to do with her cleaning), so I told her that we had 45 minutes for a 35 minute job. If she allowed me to do it, I would spend the remaining time answering all of her questions.
Part of my clinical exam for my dental hygienist license is a full cleaning tomorrow. I’m confident, but I’ll be working with a 12yo patient. I want to make her as comfortable as possible. Any advice on connecting with a 12yo girl would be appreciated! Parents? Older sibs? Boost far and wide plz.

I am done with my clinical exam! Had to do a teeth cleaning on a very amazing girl named Amelia. She was wonderful! A bit of a handful, as I'm sure all 12yos are. But my observer seemed happy with my work. So excited to be done!!

It’s kind of just hitting me: I’ve got clinical boards Monday and Tursday, licensing boards in two weeks and graduation on Dec. 15. Very much a big girl month coming up.

A pair of married dentists hired me to answer their phone and then opened my eyes to the possibility that a career in their field was in reach. I’m taking my board exam to get my dental hygienist license in two weeks.

Just 8 months ago, Colorado extended Deion Sanders in a 5-year, $54 million deal. At the time, I thought it was a little steep, but not outlandish. But post-Hunter/Shadur… I’m not sure he lasts through next season.

I’m all cases, if you are up by a score with a minute and a half left, and it’s 4th and three on the opponents 40- you punt inside the 15 and play defense. Army got cute, turned it over on downs and lost because the coach is a buffoon.

I know the standards aren’t the same for service academies, but if they were, talking about firing Army’s coach for that second half would be appropriate. Up 25-14 going into the 4th to lose 26-25 is just terrible football coaching.

Army went from having a 76% chance to win to now a 19% after like three plays. Atrocious choice to go on 4th and just embarrassing defense against a 3-7 team.
