This pic from Chicago today made me ponder how we see many enormous post-election rallies against Trump, but we never see enormous rallies *for* Trump. Sure, we see a score of people on the roadside with flags every so often, but nothing like this. Maybe he's just not as popular as he thinks he is.

Having listened closely to my fellow San Franciscans and our local officials, and after the largest and safest Dreamforce in our history, I do not believe the National Guard is needed to address safety in San Francisco. My earlier comment came from an abundance of caution around the event, and I sincerely apologize for the concern it caused. It's my firm belief that our city makes the most progress when we all work together in a spirit of partnership. I remain deeply grateful to Mayor Lurie, SFPD, and all our partners, and am fully committed to a safer, stronger San Francisco.

His genius plan is to rip away health insurance from millions of people, and then politely ask companies to add IVF coverage out of the goodness of their hearts.

The trailblazing transgender rights activist Miss Major has passed away at the age of 78.

Miss Major was a lifelong organizer and participant in the ballroom scene. She took part in the 1969 Stonewall Riots and was injured by the police — but she kept fighting.

Miss Major Griffin-Gracy passed away today according to the House of GG. She was a veteran of the Stonewall rebellion and a lifelong organizer for the safety and dignity of trans people, sex workers, and the incarcerated. She came from the same generation and milieu as Marsha and Sylvia. She was 78.

Mike Johnson said he would swear in Rep.-elect Adelita Grijalva "as soon as she wants." His office then backtracked — saying Johnson would only swear in the duly elected Grijalva once the government reopens. Grijalva won her special election more than two weeks ago.

The image features the actor Steve Buscemi dressed youthfully and holding a skateboard, and is usually subtitled with the tagline. The image is often photoshopped to adapt to a particular subculture, and the phrase is often used in conversation without the image. Independent journalists must be free to report the facts without fear of retaliation.

If we're sending troops to war under false pretenses, Americans have a right to know.
