Even if it had a 30% chance of passing in the senate (which it doesn't), it has a 0% chance of even being voted on in the House, and another 0% of being sign by Trump. Multiply anything by zero, and you still get zero, Angus. So no, it's not better than before.

We need Democrats who are not afraid to criticize @durbin.senate.gov , @schumer.senate.gov and @duckworth.senate.gov by name.
I see Congressional and US Senate hopefuls issuing vague rebukes, as if none of us has ever seen a structured rollcall before.

Throughout this shutdown, Democrats have shown that we have the backbone to actually fight for what we believe in: lower costs, accessible healthcare, and a Congress that can be a check on Trump’s chaos.
Vague Republican promises are not enough — no deal without real progress on healthcare.

Every federal worker who has been clocking in without pay, every protestor who showed up for No Kings, every voter who turned out for Dems Tuesday, every community member confronting SS ICE in our streets - all of us braver & better than these "leaders."

@schumer.senate.gov must step down as leader.
We all know he was behind this deal.
That he would stare right into the camera and lie to America only makes it worse.

America is in the midst of a Republican-made health care crisis—a crisis so severe, so urgent, and so devastating for American families that I cannot support a continuing resolution that fails to address it.
I am voting NO.

The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.
The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.
People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.
And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

If you are unwilling to call for new leadership in the Senate, this post means nothing @warnock.senate.gov .
Senate Democrats have betrayed the millions who voted on Tuesday, from Virginia to California, from New York to Georgia.
What is the point of electing more Democrats?

I voted “NO” on tonight’s budget proposal. The fight for health care continues.

On Tuesday, Americans sent Democrats a resounding message.
“Fight for us”
“Fight for working class Americans”
“Fight against Trump’s corruption, criminality and cruelty”
5 days later, Democrat Senators sent Americans a resounding message.

Great job, @schumer.senate.gov. You've changed the story from "GOP hurting millions of Americans to please unpopular, failing, delusional despot who's destroying his party" to "Dems are too weak and divided in the face of Trump's strength to take a stand and protect Americans"

Are any of those Republicans Speaker of the House?
Do I need to remind you how a bill becomes a law?

Two-thirds of Democrats say their own party makes them feel frustrated. By far the most commonly cited reason is that the party is not pushing back hard enough against Trump. www.pewresearch.org/politics/202...

Chuck Schumer would rather be seen shaking hands with Mitch McConnell than Mayor-elect Mamdani.
A real banner week for Chuck Schumer, given that only a few days ago he refused to back the Democratic nominee for mayor of his home city.

Agree.
Sen Hassan, asked what will happen if Republicans don't carry out the deal, "Well, shame on them."
This is not what people were mobilizing for on Oct 18.

MSNBC reported Schumer's office felt that the longer that shutdown went on, the more likely it was that people would start to blame the Dems.

Like Duckworth, Raja fails to criticize Durbin and Schumer.
You hope to replace Durbin, but you cannot criticize him?
Not a great sign.

Donald Trump’s promises aren’t worth the paper they’re written on. The affordability of American health care can’t depend on him keeping his word — and I won’t support any deal built on delay, deception, and empty promises. My full statement:

As @capitolfax.bsky.social points out, unless Duckworth is rebuking Durbin and Schumer, she is part of this deal, and her statement below is just campaign puffery.
Trump and Republicans refuse to fight for American families, but I refuse to give up on them.
I simply cannot vote to do nothing to help protect them from Trump’s vindictive efforts in exchange for a vague promise from the least trustworthy Republican party in our nation’s history.
