I lived a mile from RAF Scampton in the 80s, where the Vulcan nuclear bombers were based. Would've been a shadow on the pavement if it kicked off.

Her father is the referee in the back row. Bölöni is front row, fairly central, with his head turned to the right as we look. Apparently, they gave a good fight, but we're instructed to let Steaua win, so as not to embarrass the top team in the land!

@emishor.bsky.social Salut! I once messaged you on twitter that my wife's father played and managed at Chimica Tarnaveni (MS) back in the day, and was team-mate with Laszlo Bölöni. Well, she sent me a photo from the early 80s, when Chimica hosted Steaua Bucuresti in the Romanian cup.
