Love this for Trump. Pulitzer Prize Board are demanding Trump turn over his psychiatric records, medical records, tax returns and financial records in discovery as part of his lawsuit against the board.🥰

This may be my most overambitious blog. It began with small, direct actions to resist enshitification. But it grew to unpack how Meta became enshitified, how gen ai is shit for climate change, the murky world of chatbots & mental health, non-shit alternatives, sustainable home & kindness tips.

Does anyone have any pointers to online resources – fee-paying or otherwise – that discuss the art of creative writing? Amongst other things, I've watched some of Brandon Sanderson's talks and dip into ACriticalDragon, both on Youtube, but wondered what else people have found enlightening. 🖋️📖💰

What would you pay for 80,000 words of ebook?
For 100,000?
For 160,000?

I'm questioning my (epic fantasy) trilogy prices. It would be easier if I just sold direct & on Itch, where a minimum price, tipping & a (cheaper) trilogy bundle are options. But Kobo, Apple, Barnes & Noble not having those...

ICE pepper-sprayed this 1-year-old girl.

Once at the hospital, the doctor had to call in a poison control specialist.

They had never seen anyone that young pepper sprayed.

Another horrific story.

If you're an author, what makes you consider a book "successful"? Obviously there are the important intangibles--did the book do what you meant it to; did it touch someone's heart; did it tick off the right people--but if you have material or commercial metrics for success, what are they?

This was implemented with authors having no way to opt out. I'm no longer in KU, but I have 0 faith with my books on that platform.

i don’t think people understand the interconnection of the #adoption industry, child welfare systems, and the manufacturing of orphanhood. the overwhelmingly predominant cause children’s loss of family is not death but the state. most adoptees are people whose parents are dead *in law only.*

You can change your settings so that it won't let you post an image without it, and thus you don't have to worry about forgetting.
