Former journalist, current media relations person in Tacoma. I take a lot of photos and read a lot and used to care a lot more about sports than I do these days.

A few more pictures I grabbed yesterday. 🦑
I was hoping for someone from Washington state, but not the one I got.
Ahh, gotcha. I do know Orca Network has a texting service where you pay like $25 and they will send you updates. Basically a workaround for folks not on Facebook.
If you are on Facebook, follow Orca Network and I guarantee you will see them eventually.
Oh. My. God. What a day in the Puget Sound. 73 Endangered Southern Resident Orcas swam past Point Robinson Lighthouse on Vashon Island. Here is one breaching with a salmon in its mouth. 🦑
Yeah, the only reason Boston will be remembered in relation to Mookie is how cheap their owners became. I still can't believe they traded prime Mookie Betts for Alex Verdugo.
That was one of the most incredible choke jobs you will ever see. Unbelievable performance by the Jays.
I was hoping you wouldn't be the one person who saw that post.
That bomb reminded me of Jim Leyritz's homer against Smoltz and the Braves in 1996.

Hanging breaking ball golfed out by an unlikely hero.
Why was the photo of the mayor created in ChatGPT?
I think it makes a lot of sense to cheat toward third in a different situation, not when you could get doubled off to end a game. He should have taken note that Hernandez was playing in before the ball was hit.

Also, both things can be true. Hernandez made a good play and Barger made a bad play.
I mean, I guess. A line drive with one out and you are the tying run. You have to freeze on the line drive, he didn't and it cost them the game.

Republicans are perfectly happy that SNAP isn't being funded during the shutdown because they don't think that SNAP should be funded, period.
Trump’s Agriculture Secretary Rollins & Johnson called 42 million Americans losing SNAP benefits a “silver lining” because it sparked “a national conversation.”

Imagine being so detached from hunger that you see families skipping meals as a PR opportunity.

I keep seeing people say, oh, trans people must take a hit for the greater good and, first of all, no, you don't get to discard someone else's rights and second, we know from past experience that marginalized communities like theirs are merely the first to be targeted. They'll come for you next.

Don't threaten us with a good time.
I'm fascinated by her saying kissing someone on the cheek is not sexual harassment. What kind of thing is that to say?
Even after the windstorm over the weekend, Tacoma is still looking mighty fine this fall.
It's just a weird framing. The article easily could have focused on how no one can afford anything in Seattle, instead of trying to do a gotcha.
Fall colors and a bald eagle are pretty fun. Normally, I capture photos of bald eagles high up in trees - so I'm below them. Yesterday, I was on top of a cliff with very tall trees on the slope and so this eagle was actually below me. 🪶
