I think I need a Bluesky break. I need to turn my efforts toward other venues for a bit. You can still find me elsewhere if you’re interested—or follow my art blog using RSS.

I won't lie this took SO many years and was the MOST complicated thing I've ever illustrated. I did all of the artwork in Procreate with like 2 or 3 brushes, I'm unbelievably proud of it.

Thank you, @cameowood.com for believing in me to pull off a project like this, and for making it all possible!
Thrilled to share the Point Reyes Myriorama: a storytelling art deck inspired by the National Seashore and my love of Philip Pullman. I teamed up with artist Carrie Alyson of Aspenhearted. Preorder now for early 2026 delivery: www.pointreyesmyriorama.com

An experiment!

24x36 acrylic, water, and oil.

The oil and water mix caused the paint to settle into a stunning pattern (to me).

Playing with paint is my favourite activity

Volunteering again today for the Redwood Art Association as a docent in their gallery.

Judge’s Talk and walkthrough of the show is tonight, too. Can’t wait! It’s fiber art and sculpture, and the show is quite dramatic!

Please remember that tomorrow is “Don’t Make Bezos or His TechBros Richer Day.”

Instead, do your best to shop small. Shop independent. Shop local. Support your fellow humans, not corpos.

I’ll admit I haven’t lived in Humboldt County in northern CA very long, but this table setting reminds me *so much* of the spirit of this area it’s kinda brilliant.

I’m not going to encourage you to buy stuff, do Black Friday, go to my website, or look at my shop—none of that stuff.

I will share this happy little phone wallpaper I made for a Little Red calendar a few years ago.

Celebrate what you want. Or not. Up to you.

For those in the states! Happy Thanksgiving!

Usually like to study a turkey, this year is the Osceola Wild Turkey. These turkeys are a little leaner and thinner then their turkey cousins in the north.

Just saw someone claim that authors who want to be paid for their work are "class traitors" because we "only let the wealthy" read our books, and I think I need to go into the woods to scream into the night for a bit.

It's $5, not your first-born child! I need that $5 for health insurance!

I've made about $17k all year, INCLUDING my adjunct teaching job.

There is this idea that anyone working in the arts has wealthy family help, and sure some do, but a lot of us are simply poor. If you enjoy someone's work please pay them for it. It is not greedy to want to be paid for your labor.

1. I see elsewhere on Bluesky that the discourse has turned toward telling writers not to be ashamed to admit they have day jobs or other sources of income (or spousal/family financial support), and you know what, that's 100% correct. Day jobs and support from loved ones are great if you have them!
