It’s nice that most ecomm platforms have gift card capability built in so small businesses can offer them. Will it take another 10 years before you can schedule the gift card to be sent on Christmas Day. Another 5 years to choose someone’s birthday?

I’m very familiar with it in BC, and the replies that said “I think it’s more of a [region] thing” mentioned places across the entire country. If it’s “regional” to Maritimes, Ontario, Manitoba, and BC, you got yourself a national product.

My friend Ben Mills used to have a joke about how we stopped being able to complain about artists selling out when the majority of people stopped buying the art. If the best case scenarios for downloading and streaming puts fractions of cents in bank accounts, then they can do the commercial.

The old Rolex ads were pretty bad too, haha. I went to a screening at the VIFF Theatre of Hundreds of Beavers a year or two ago, and when the Rolex commercial revealed at the end that it was a Rolex commercial, the audience full on laughed.
