the symbolism of “Trump destroying the White House for a overpriced luxury vanity project, during a government shut down, days after a historically-large mass demonstration against his regime called “No Kings”’ would be rightly viewed as laying it on a little thick if it was in a work of fiction
This weekend's marches did stir the pot a little bit causing that very reactionary *shit post*, but he is an entertainer and would have found another way to get a laugh from his court. Just a lot of energy from 7M to further highlight his crassness.
We used to point this out a lot in our neighborhood FB group. People would put up a post about, say, the trash and the dumping. The act of posting made the neighbor feel like they did something about the trash but in fact they did nothing actionable.
sums it up. headlines on crowd sizes and the feeling that maybe something happens (somewhere else) aren’t action, and getting a bunch of people to show up to a party for nothing isn’t organizing.

find your people and build something real.

“Although there aren’t available statistics on how many N.F.L. players have made nursing their second career, The Times spoke to five current and former athletes about their decision. Some are still playing and plan to pursue nursing when they leave… while others made the shift after retirement.”

Unless you got up everyday and had to face it I can see how the scope of devastation was lost. I also think the pressure of acutely losing independence without that context made many quite bitter. Leaving jobs to homeschool kids, losing jobs, no vacations, just the four walls of where you lived.

Hahahaha! I did the same thing last Sunday at 7:30am. Then followed it up with Midsommar and Beau is Afraid. By the third movie I was like, what am I doing!
Every 20 North/South blocks is one mile. So if they are traveling north to South that is 1.5 miles x 70 ft wide (average width of street and sidewalk) of humans who showed up.
Is that a shield of bullet proof glass?
Where my Espelette people at?

Zohran Mamdani uses his appearance on Fox News to "speak directly to the president," since "he might be watching right now."

Mamdani looks straight into the Fox camera as he says this >>>
Also fun fact about the evolution of vanity sizing. I buy a lot of vintage clothes and have a library of size charts from the '70s, '80s and '90s. During that time I'm a size 6-8.
Sizes in the US are vanity sizes. Uniqlo does not size down clothes, they stick to standard measurements and size accordingly. Example: I am a size 4 which is accurate based on measurements. JCrew has me as a double zero. Please.
As for availability, agree, Uniqlo should stock larger sizes.
What our electeds need to do for us is to facilitate the things that we ask for to get that work done. That is the role going forward.
I finished 107 Days. In the last chapter, Harris acknowledges that working from the inside may not be the right approach going forward. And I agree it should be community driven. It should be neighborhood by neighborhood.
I once had a patient physically attack me at the nurses station then proceeded to shred every page in the chart I was working on, all because he wanted Uncrustables.
True story.
I have eaten

the Crustless Peanut Butter & Strawberry Jam Sandwiches

that were

Smucker's valuable intellectual property

and in which

it probably made

a substantial investment

and had valuable goodwill

Forgive me

they were delicious

so sweet

and so Unscrustable™️
Okay, so a lot going on in one short paragraph.

1) Being a "copycat" isn't necessarily the same as being an infringer.

2) Does anyone really think TJ's is trying to "trade off of Smucker’s valuable goodwill" here? Or are they just trying to compete?
I know you're talking NWSL but have a look at the USL Brooklyn FC prices for this season. This is a baseball stadium.
