I just wrote my first set of #morningpages. My hand is beyond sore. I hope to gain more stamina with regular practice. I started not because I feel completely blocked. I wanna level up. I'm writing a dissertation, a feature length screenplay, in post on a short, and pre- on another short.

Devastated and undone but celebrating that we got to be on the planet at the same time as our beloved Major.

May we all be as unwavering In the face of fascism as she remained.

Sending love to the rest of the family.

PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD!!

The University of Texas-Austin is beginning a process to eliminate the Black Studies, Latino Studies, and Gender Studies departments in the College of Liberal Arts. This is a grave threat to the educational liberty of students, faculty, staff, and the people of Texas. 1/

A Black Mom who lost her job a few months ago is having a hard time making rent these past few months. She does on-demand delivery to get by but had to spend on car repairs, and this month she won’t make it. If we each give $1 she’ll reach her goal. We’ve helped 158 people so far, let’s keep going.
Photo of a Black Woman smiling My name is Brittany and im a single mother of a 3yr old baby girl, I lost my job back in June and started doing amazon flex to make ends meet and make last months rent but this month just seems to be more difficult.

I drive a 2002 PT cruiser and (which is on its last leg but still getting us from A to B!) But I had to replace my tie rods and that blew a chunk out of my earnings! My rent is 1250.00 but im sure I can make a portion of it before the first.

Any and all donations and prayers are greatly appreciated and thank you to everyone in advance!

The Dems are already running, so I don’t think so.

You are not asking for my two cents at all. This makes me think about how many republicans will make their plays by distancing themselves from 47' right now.

What does that have to do with a book recommendation? I recommended a book, just one book, and you made it about you.
charlenecarruthers.bsky.social
So, mentioning Black people means that no one else matters? You should take a moment to think about why you responded that way.

If someone recommends a boom about Asian people I don’t hop in their mentions saying “not just Asian people experience that.” Not only is it rude, it’s ignorant.
charlenecarruthers.bsky.social
Why did you think this was necessary to say?
charlenecarruthers.bsky.social
It would be incredible if folks coming into consciousness around the ICE raids were also able to make the connection the family policing. I highly recommend Dorothy Roberts book “Torn Apart: How the Child Welfare System Destroys Black Families--and How Abolition Can Build a Safer World“

No, because even the ridicule could lead (and had led) to more training as a solution. Thats more money for things that don’t work.

NEW — Rod Johnson will never forget federal agents zip-tying his hands behind his back.

The night of the South Shore raid in Chicago, Johnson said he was detained for two hours.

“I’m an American citizen with no warrants,” Johnson said.

Some people don’t want it in their tv’s, don’t want to see it on their phones. It’s kinda how things went down with Obama 😬

Are people asking for more skillful kidnappings? Is there a more civil way to strip a child from their parents?

I know the answer to that question for some, it’s yes. People would rather it be less visible, less fuss, and less overtly violent.
charlenecarruthers.bsky.social
folks, the training bit doesn’t work for cops and it doesn’t work for ICE.
emanabdelhadi.bsky.social
Seeing many posts about how ICE isn't trained. That's not really the problem. The problem is what they were sent to do, not whether they're qualified to do it.
