politicians should spend less time managing expectations of by telling voters what a minority party can't pass and instead engage in this four-step process:
1) say what you think is right
2) obstruct whatever isn't that
3) lose if that's how it goes
4) remind voters who passed the evil law

on a separate but related point i do think a large source of "destroy that tranny and keep her as a sex slave" type of transmisogyny is rooted in knowing that before we transition, a lot of us hear men speaking "amongst men" and that terrifies them
