In 2023, at 109, Fletcher published her memoir “Don’t Let Them Bury My Story.” Lessie Benningfield Randle, who celebrated her 111th birthday this month, is now the last known living survivor of the massacre.

Correct. Every Democrat voted against confirming Hegseth.

Every Republican voted to confirm him except for Senators McConnell, Murkowski, and Collins.

It was a 50/50 vote in the Senate, with a tie-breaker by JD Vance himself.
Thing is, we DID hear about it at his confirmation hearing.

Every single senator who voted to confirm Hegseth knew he held these views about the laws of war.

They voted to confirm him anyway.
Everyone should read this terrifying thread about Hegseth’s published views wrt war crimes. It’s pretty fucking radical …. We needed to hear about this in his confirmation hearing.

you: please act normal Ed, you need these people to like you

people: hello Ed nice to meet you

me: Partridges are ground-dwelling and rarely found in trees. “A partridge in a pear tree” is a pun on the French word for a partridge, “perdrix.”

THIS. #ILLEGAL. This is a most important word; yet, I've been noting that MANY people are avoiding using it, choosing instead every other word to describe these actions by ICE. Why?? We NEED to be very clear and use this word very LOUDLY and repeatedly: #ILLEGAL
We must start holding ICE thugs accountable what they are doing is illegal and unconstitutional!

Sorry about his injury.

Worth looking up case of Linda Tirado who was shot in the eye with a similar projectile, blinded and after legal action received some compensation. She also suffered head injury impacts that may have contributed to other health issues.

“We’re broken and we’re being poached by ICE. It’s unbelievable," said a prison workers union official. "People are leaving in droves"—many taking jobs w/ ICE. The Bureau of Prisons has lost 1,400 more staff this year than it has hired. Shortages of food, hygiene supplies & health care are common

Across Europe, the far right is rising, as anti-immigration policies gain increased voter support and neoliberalism shreds the social safety net. Wilders's campaign called for an end to asylum for all refugees, “de-Islamization,” and a Brexit-style referendum on the EU.

I bet in all of history we could count on one hand how many US Attorneys, whether properly or improperly appointed, have been sanctioned for nearly $1 million for arguing frivolous legal theories for a political purpose.

In fact, bet it is even on just one finger.
