As one commenter noted, plenty of Americans did this in Afghanistan, often to people who weren't the equivalent of national guards. Nothing like beheading happened to them. A lot got medals!

All this talk of Trump and Hegseth commiting war crimes by bombing boats and declaring kill them all seems overblown, its not like they systematically bombed every hospital in Venezuela by saying that drug dealers were hiding out underneath them, that would be a crazy war crime to ignore.

I would say yea in a world of laws sure Hegseth would be tried, but these same reps and senators just spent the past two years taking vacations to Israel and approving millions in weapons for crimes that make this seem tame in comparison. We are no longer a nation governed by laws
