Creating a military conflict with Venezuela gives this administration a legal "hook" to invoke the Alien Enemies Act. In other words, the foreign war is being manufactured in order to facilitate court deference for its domestic mass deportation policy. It's a Stephen Miller Special.

The president has illegally declared war to stop fentanyl trafficking from a country that does not traffic that drug, claiming its leader is trafficking drugs himself, the day after pardoning a former leader of a country who is a convicted drug trafficker.

Every right-wing “grassroots”organisation in New Zealand is just Jordan Williams, David Farrar, and one randomly-selected Atlas Network apparatchik in a trenchcoat
There's a new "grassroots" website automating supportive emails to Erica Stanford / signatures on an open letter endorsing her attacks on te Tiriti and you have until the end of this skeet to guess who registered the domain name

...

Did you guess Jordan Williams' Campaign Company? Gold star

So this happened in Oslo yesterday. Four articulated buses got stuck in a roundabout.

This is important and significant. These are the guidelines that were submitted and agreed before political interference. The ones that should have been published.

PATHA have taken a stand of not having their name used to give credence to the rewritten ones, and released the correct ones.

People complain about academic writing being opaque and verbose but the wanton anti-intellectualism in govt sources misquoting a literature review, ripping it wildly out of context, and using it as an example of wokeness gone too far is not something that can be solved by improved communication.

Is "if you were offended, *we would apologise for that*" an apology, or a signal of an intent to apologise at a later date but the later date never happened? I feel like I need to dig up Derrida and get him in here for a 3hr lecture to determine whether this counts as an apology.

Everyone complaining that we shouldn't be talking about rolling Luxon would be deep into a multi-part series as to why the PM needed to be replaced if it was a Labour govt with these numbers/issues.

I mean this is why I have not written an MSM column saying 'we should stop talking about people wanting to roll Luxon because it's in the national interest for the biggest idiot available to lead National into the next election as I, an annoying leftist, want them to do as badly as possible'

Capitalism forces me to wake up at 5:45 because corporate landlords drove the cost of housing so high I can only afford to live 90 minutes away from my office. 99% of my work could be done at home, and 99% of it could be done at literally any hour of the day. I do worse work being forced to do this.
“Capitalism forces you to wake up at 7am against your body’s natural rhythms” no that’s Taylorism and if you don’t like living in a society that coordinates effort to ensure a better outcome for all then I don’t think you’ll love the alternatives
