Super shocked by this scoop - the NZ police won't tell us whether or not the CSAM and non-consensual deepfake content generated on Grok might be illegal, or even provide advice on what to do if you (or your child!) is a target. Story here: www.emilywrites.co.nz/nz-police-do... #nzpol #kikorangi

There's a reason why sports teams don't chant "I believe that we will lose" before a game, a reason so obvious that I'm pretty sure it needs no explanation in that context. Words have power. They not only describe but shape reality....

What the hell is going on between the Coalition Government and the Public Service Commission?
It's not normal for public servants and the Government to collude against unions like this.

I fundamentally cannot compute the push for a government level ban of X when the vast majority of government figures and the entire infrastructure of the progressive left that would push for a ban also spend their days doing volunteer work for Musk by providing free content to X to keep it alive

My favourite 2025 games; most are discounted. A mix of genres. May you find a brief mental respite from The Horrors.

(Games are: Avowed, Ball X Pit, Battle Suit Aces, Citizen Sleeper 2, Clair Obscur, Eternal Strands, Hades 2, Monster Train 2, Octopath Traveler 0, Trails in the Sky: FC)

it was one of the worst parts of Twitter & there was an impulse to not do it back in Bluesky Before Times but now if you tell people "actually this sucks" they'll tell you it's praxis to quote-dunk trash takes & that shitting up the timeline is Good, Actually and "exposes bigots to sunlight" or w/e
Love you all, but I don't know about this trend of quote posting garbage takes to dunk on them. It ends up giving the OP all the attention in the world—and yeah, a lot of it is negative but you know what they say about all publicity being good publicity. This is what sub(posts) were invented for 👀😂

I cannot emphasize enough how good reviews provide your fave authors with both happiness and algorithmic favor.

Most people find new books via Amazon, and Amazon picks the books they want to show you (in part) from sales velocity and reviews.
"I can't afford to support my favorite author right now, I—"

Reviews.

Reviews are free AND they are a gift to authors that can keep on giving (i.e., exposure, marketing, algo boosts, etc.)

Please, give the gift of reviews to your authors this holiday season. It really can make a difference!
