A proper pinned skeet is in order, methinks.

I'm most known as Leina, aka The North-East Recluse. I pretend to be a red panda online and blather on about videogames, mostly, but also other nerd stuff, furry stuff, and also the odd serious topic like UK politics, mental health and gender identity.

What degrading is seeing tabloids attack people on benefits calling them lazy, scroungers, benefit street, etc and then you just know some twat is there... Judging...

And all your doing is fighting to get eyes to focus, see without pain and/or discomfort as you look through a magnifying glass.

The point of school is to prepare young people for life. Bullying is about hierarchy. Life is about hierarchy. This is why they come down so hard on pupils who DO fight back. Because the very worse thing in life those lower down in the hierarchy can do is DARE to rise about their station.

It would genuinely have been better for Turning Point not to publicly release the essay. Even apart from the transphobia, it's just dogshit writing. There is no university worth the paper its degrees are are printed on that would accept this essay.
Turning Point at OU posted this girl's essay in full and man is it rough

As someone who was alive in an era where technology actually made things better and was worth the investment, it has been galling to sit through *almost two decades* of seeing the entire sector turned into an infinite money glitch.
One thing I learned over the weekend from talking to finance people is that they assume the AI bubble is going to burst and their issue is figuring out when so they can time their trades right.

Related tangetically, Fads (YT) posted a video about Cybertrucks that goes into the funding/profit switcheroo these rich tech bros‘ companies/branches of their companies do and I think everyone should watch it.
"All of this falls apart if humans don't adopt the tech. This is why you've seen Meta cram its lame chatbots into WhatsApp and Instagram. This is why Notepad and Paint now have useless Copilot buttons on Windows. This is why Google Gemini wants to "help you" read and reply to your emails."
Analysis: OpenAI is a loss-making machine, how can it survive?
Don't call it a bubble! Loss-making monster OpenAI is on the hook for $1.4 trillion (with a T) in compute commitments. How can this go on?

Christ, I'd take 1000 caustic French-Canadian indie developers over a single one of the various horrormen we've got kicking around nowadays.

OpenAI & Nvidia have made it so easy to the anti-AI side with how things are going right now with prices etc.

Selling AI services will be a huge difficult task if all you have to point out that ram is like $500-1,000, gpu's are $2,000-3,000 and Windows 11 has daily bugs that makes it looke crap.

Yes as it would be foolish to release new CPU's if people can't afford them right now due to the RAM issue.

No affordable ram, no reason to buy new motherboard and that means no buying new CPU or GPU...
