I honestly think that @lanedraws.bsky.social knocked it out of the park, but this ebook edition doesn't do the full cover justice. The paperback will have the ENTIRE graphic including the back. But for now, the ebook is both economical and available for pre-order this very minute.

Releases 9/26.

Alas, for my inability to relocate to Chicago, I'd *SO* do this. This Fellowship would rock on the resume of any writer who did it.
Hey all,

The Onion is accepting applicants for our writing, video and graphics fellowships.

Fellowships last six months, pay well, and provide full benefits.

You can apply at theonion.com/fellowship.

Not just throwing Admiral Bradley under the bus, but backing the bus up and running him over again multiple times.
"They... they... they..."

That's the sound of the bus being driven over Admiral Bradley.

Making a note that a) Japanese 7-Elevens sell packaged cooked tongue and b) Canadian customs will confiscate that, so probably don't try to bring any back.
and furthermore, liver and onions are in fact delectable

so is tongue. when I came back to Canada customs made me surrender the packages of cooked tongue I brought from a Japanese 7-Eleven

Just emailed Grove Atlantic with info and documentation on this scam, about which I've gotten two recent reports. It's being run by publishing scammer WestPage Press. Impersonating publishers with fake contract offers is a very common ploy for this type of scam.
ICYMI #WritingCommunity Grove Atlantic is trying to track down scammers, and if you've encountered them, they'd like your help

Look... I only learned that Matthew *exist* by meeting him at WORLDCON in August. He had a new book out I hadn't read because I HAD MYSTERIOUSLY NEVER HEARD OF HIM.

This should never happen to anyone EVER AGAIN!

Everyone needs to live in anticipation of this book.
“A story that speaks to our fractured time, and leaves us with both catharsis and hope. I too would risk everything to see the first rainfall on Mars. A lovely piece of work.” —Nathan Ballingrud, author of The Strange

AI data centers IN SPAAAAACE!

No, they can't work. Not with the current tech. Not with solar power. Not at the current heat-inefficiencies. Chips need to be radiation-hardened. You need better thermal management, lower power requirements... A laundry list of things WE DON'T HAVE.

The New York Times is no longer the national paper of note. They're just too far gone for that. The national paper of note is now @theonion.com.

Kudos to @bencollins.bsky.social and his team for putting in the work of being a pain in the ass to those in power.

I remember Dawning Realization Month for the NFT people too. Think this is going to take much longer because of how wrapped up the whole economy is in this, but it really feels like it's happening.
Anecdotally on twitter seeing a big shift the last few days from every AI slop account saying every other creative field is “over” and they’re in control now to now posting about how nobody likes them and it’s not fair and they’ll persevere and real artists respect and uplift eachother

I've helped fund this comic series in the past, but alas, my finances have TANKED of late. Best I can do it point to the fundraiser for the current book. This is a worthy series which should continue.
20 hours doesn't seem like a lot, but neither does the amount we have remaining.

There's still 2 big cameos, and some back cover cameos available, also the ENTIRE 7 ISSUE SERIES!

This is the way.
For the past six weeks, an AI Facebook account has been pulling my history posts on Instagram and slopping out new captions, so I’ve been feeding it poison pills and its followers are having meltdowns in the comments. It’s been pretty spectacular.

The only reason to go kill the survivors and lie about it is because you knew the boat wasn’t carrying drugs
5/ Administration explanation to Congress seems to be a bold-face falsehood: claiming double-tap strike was to clear debris, not to kill survivors.

"That explanation has prompted frustration among some members of Congress who say they believe the Pentagon was deceptive."

I notice it a whole lot.
I don’t know if anyone else notices or cares, but when I see a presentation in which the speaker uses obviously generated-AI images to illustrate their slides, it makes me immediately less confident in whatever other content they’re presenting.
