If you have morals, scruples, how is it possible to meet in the middle on issues where one side doesn't accept that some groups of people are human beings or are lesser human beings?

That's my starting point. We can have a discussion only if you understand this statement.
Worse than Harper. Mark my words.
This sounds a bit like the prime minister is prepared to steamroll over many B.C. First Nations and the provincial government to give Alberta what it wants

Or maybe he was just pandering to his audience?

Such a huge disappointment he has turned out to be. I knew he would likely focus on economic issues as a priority, but his disrespect to our Indigenous people, his gutting of our healthcare system, his push to privatization of public services, and his disdain for civil rights have been a shock.

The world blew past the dangerous 1.5 degree red line.
Our grandkids will pay the price.
Canada was the outlier in the G7 because of massive oil production expansion.
Mark Carney has decided to go all in on planet burning as a national strategy.

This is such a perfect photo. Carney at once looks like he's bordered by the red of the Canadian flag and simultaneously by dripping blood.

Those cheering on the massive job cuts in the public service need to realise that those displaced workers will be competing for the limited number of available private sector positions.
This increased competition will result in lower wages for everyone.

this quick listen echos this exact sentiment. austerity hurts all canadians and has never "increased efficiency or streamlined" government. it's another carney con.

To cease fighting against the rise of carbon emissions because it isn’t financially feasible in difficult economic times demonstrates how poorly we understand the real world costs of those emissions - on healthcare, infrastructure, crop losses/food insecurity

Opinion: The fight against climate change appears to be officially dead
Rich countries are feeling less inclined to fight emissions in the years ahead, which will affect the world’s most disadvantaged

Centrism prevents the rise of a real left that will tax wealth fairly. They haven't got a better plan: they mean to *prevent*

So, predictable talk of their 'big tent' after Mamdani's victory, no thanks, I want a real left, not a fake Ezra Klein business-friendly Third Way TED-talking nonsense left

Goddamnit.
Mark Carney was always a neoliberal plant. He was there to distract away from the maniac of Pierre Poilievre.

He got elected on false, progressive, promises; destroyed the biggest left leaning progressive party and is now a implementing austerity & measure that make Stephen Harper smile

Better off to invest in nuclear fusion. Carbon capture is a hoax.
Mark Carney's first budget included billions in new spending, cuts to the public service, and....the end of a luxury tax on boats and personal aircraft?

What that says about his approach to governing — and why it's worth paying attention to.

Mark Carney wants results, not rhetoric
What does his government's decision to eliminate a Trudeau-era luxury tax have to do with climate policy? More than you might think

Did you know that a huge 89% of people in the world want more action to fight the #climatecrisis? That’s nearly 9 in 10 of us — across continents, cultures, and communities.

We are the majority. And when enough of us raise our voices together, change becomes unstoppable. 🗣📢

We are the Majority.
9 in 10 people want stronger climate action. Let’s make 2025 the year we break the silence and start having climate conversations.

Best to you. My mom had a 10 year descent into dementia. She had a Do Not Resuscitate order. It took 3 days without food and water for her to finally pass. Everyone feels guilty and horrid. Wouldn't treat a dog like that; why not allow grace and dignity for people in their final moments?

Won't matter if we go to the polls, CPC voters will still show up, and with a stronger NDP splitting the vote, and the Liberals losing those who lent their vote last time, FPTP will deliver a #CPCfascists majority.

My Dad was diagnosed with major cancer (lungs, glands, all over). His decline was quite sudden. From biking 5 miles a day to I can't breathe in 2 months. He applied for MAID. He was approved and will go out on his terms Nov 14th. I am very grateful to Trudeau for making this possible.
