Oh hey, the leveling update came through! Sweet!
(Just never could manage the "catch 200 pokémon in a day" task to get past 40.)

Daaaaang, The hysteresis from the difference between my level being held up from that task and my collected XP was pretty impressive.

The achievement in Pokémon Go for reaching Level 40 before the leveling patch.
