* He is a serial domestic violence offender, how was he hired by ICE? *

“he is accused of strangling a woman he lives with… officers observed visible bruising on the woman’s neck…Prosecutors said in court that police had responded to the apartment roughly 22 times in the previous year and a half.”

I doubt there’s a woman my age who hasn’t been subjected to “while you’re down there…” at work & in public dozens of times. It’s disgusting but also, it’s not even clever. Tim Saunders is in his 60’s, acting like a puerile little shit. Men-grow-up-and-have some-manners-challenge failed once again.

This event changed significantly — Myron Gaines and Andrew Wilson are no longer joining and instead Kai Schwemmer (groyper POS) and Sarah Stock (RiftTV white supremacist). The event organizer has also extended a public invitation to Nick Fuentes. Yes, this is the Act Blue supported “counter” event.
lmfao so the "counter" to AmericaFest will now include an actual neo-Nazi (Myron Gaines) and a violently misogynistic manosphere slopodcaster (Andrew Wilson). very nice, very cool
the fact that this, the Unfuck America freaks, and AmericaFest will all be on the same block that weekend makes me wanna hurl

Fabulous stuff here...
Delayed because of both my own health stuff and Jimmy Cliff's untimely death meaning I had to rework it substantially, here at last is the latest episode of A History of Rock Music in 500 Songs. Roger Corman! George Melly! Charity records! It can only be the story of "Many Rivers to Cross"
Song 182: “Many Rivers to Cross” by Jimmy Cliff
This episode, we look at the song “Many Rivers to Cross”, the birth of reggae, and the career of the late Jimmy Cliff. Click the full post to read liner notes, links to more information, and a tran…

Finally something to be angry about that isn't unprecedented.

If you're wondering who will stop this, the answer is likely no one. If you're thinking it will never happen, this excellent thread is full of receipts showing that it's happened here before.
So the plan is Don Jr. and Eric Trump corner the market to become the biggest drug cartel in the Western hemisphere.

CIA controls production, the US military kills the competition with Hellfire missiles, CBP controls drug routes into and out of the US, and ICE raids the local distributors?

In today's edition of Everything is Rotten...
If you were curious why the biggest coke-heads in the world are trying to resurrect the War On Drugs, it all makes sense and explains why they're striking the boats, parking half the US Navy off the Venezuelan coast while pardoning cartel leaders.

Great thread of links to many studies showing that drug seizures increase the incidence of overdose.

When opioid access is interrupted, even for a few days, a combination of decreased tolerance and withdrawal symptoms combine to increase people’s overdose risk.

More policing is not the answer.

“We’re running out of good ideas” is a weird way to talk about the tech that discourages people from thinking, which is championed by people who claim that its life-changing value lies in giving wings to the ideas you already have.

America, you have spoken loud and clear: You do not like AI. But what if AI is the way to restart the world’s idea machine?
We’re running out of good ideas. AI might be how we find new ones.
What if the best use of AI is restarting the world’s idea machine?

The democrats under Biden chose to outright lie about Covid its effects and they also chose to follow the fascists lead and let it rip all so the wealthy would never feel the impacts or suffering they outsourced to the poor and middle class.

These ridiculous mega-projects like "datacenters in space" (doomed by thermodynamics) make a LOT more sense when you realize they're massive Ponzi schemes designed to transfer wealth from pension funds to VC's through "fee stacking."

It's the old Assets Under Management con. It should be illegal.
“.. Skeptics believe the technical risks are being underestimated and say space-based data centers won’t be competitive on cost, especially if power and other constraints ease on the ground.”

Truly did not know how good we had it when the most irritating thing on an average internet day was everyone on instagram posting their 100th round of responses to a slightly different "get to know me" prompt &/or dumbass 30-day themed calendarbingo hashtag challenge. (now instagram is actual evil)

I want to scream. I want to ask how he keeps getting away with these things but the answer is evident — all of our leaders are complicit, they keep allowing it to happen. Anyone who doesn’t vigorously and prominently contest this to the fullest extent of the law is not fit for public office.

Books, articles, and "art" made with AI should be clearly labeled, like latex in healthcare or allergens in food. It sucks to live in a world this unreliable, and the relentless degradation of information greatly adds to that burden. Other people's use of AI increases my workload significantly.

everything in this thread... from the slogan and messaging which belies and mocks everything that has happened/is happening here, to the atrocious design choices... it's infuriating, it's an embarrassment, the whole campaign is out of touch and out of bounds (*and* it's hideous).
Just when you thought this campaign couldn't get worse.

If anyone has more information about the creatives behind this abomination, I'd like to speak with them immediately
