The only way this country is going to work is if we all start caring about each other. Not just about ourselves.

Besides, when our fellow citizens get screwed, regardless which “group” they belong to, it’s only a matter of time before it ricochets and hits us. It’s guaranteed.

and as a physical entity it consumes space, water, air...
I think this is a huge thing humans need to wrap their heads around.

The Internet is not magically "out there," it exists in physical spaces right here in our world.
The cloud is physical. That’s what data centers are.

graham platner seems to be asking me to give him the benefit of the doubt a lot lately. good thing i can review his track record as a legislator instead of just going by vibes oh wait

Odds are this aggressively did not happen. But it would of course be just as unconstitutional to spend money donated to the government without a duly enacted appropriation as it is to spend tax money that way.
Trump: "By the way, a friend of mine called us the other day and he said 'I'd like to contribute any shortfall you have because of the Democrat shutdown. I'd like to contribute any shortfall you have with the military.' Today, he sent us a check for $130 million. It's gonna go the military."
“him” is not a typo
If it’s not him he doesn’t see any value in it
It reminds me of the old joke about weather forecasters: if I was strong 40% of the time at work I’d be fired.

Cold Case in the East Wing

Episode One: A skeleton turns up in the East Wing rubble. Some misadventure from decades ago? But forensics discovers it’s…a recent death! And the victim didn’t perish there. Carpet fibers show the body was moved…from Trump Tower!

Episode Two: …

look I think we can agree that what really matters about graham platner is that he’s got that great volkisch quality that’s so hard to find among progressives for whatever reason
The first 20 minutes of this episode made me want to re-read Final Girl Support Group by Grady Hendrix. All his books feature final girls who get pushed to that rage and exhaustion. But I just realized how much it’s about PTSD

Not everyone should run for office, and if they do it doesn't mean they're prepared or they deserve your respect.

We need a total and complete shutdown of people using the term “the DNC” until our country's posters can figure out what the Democratic National Committee actually is and does.

Honestly, it's probably worth burying the demolition company in litigation. Surely not hard to find a non-frivolous claim. Make them, and any other Trump goons, regret doing his dirty work.

Without goons he can do a lot less.
Could someone sue the demolition company? Do they have potential criminal liability to be prosecuted in the next administration?
specifically, someone could potentially sue the park service

My friend told me that her 14 year old son started doing laundry on Sundays for some of his elderly neighbors. He doesn't charge for the labor. And now he is the most popular person in the building and has non stop pies, cookies, and cake. The 14 year old should be our model of modern masculinity.

He and every president occupy the WH as a GUEST! The National Park Service owns it, it is part of the National Trust of Historic Places and the Peoples House! He desecrated an icon of our nations history without consultation , permission or showing a plan of any kind! Remove him from office.

Not enough of you believe me right now, but "Rebuild The White House" is going to become one of the most popular slogans in American political history

People went around for yrs screaming as if someone losing TV show or film was tantamount to murder. Really tired of this dynamic: You try to just POINT OUT ongoing bad behavior of a male public figure = you’re the worst monster in history & you just KILLED that guy by having standards. Sorry, my bad

As I had to point out many times during post #metoo years, no one is owed a big Hollywood contract. No one owed a comedy special. Now: No one is owed a Senate seat. This dude was not murdered & he’s not in jail. He made poor decisions & his actions now are sus & so he doesn’t get the job. The end!
