In Minnesota, we care about our neighbors—no matter our income, skin color, or where we were born. As Trump and the ICE machine attack our immigrant neighbors, we’re coming together to say MN ❤️'s our neighbors. March with us: www.facebook.com/share/1JbXD5...

Current WFH binge is Silicon Valley.

It seems so… quaint…?

Saint Paul folks: my neighborhood FB Group (South Como) is abuzz with questions about helicopters circling the neighborhood this afternoon. Anyone know anything?

Obviously the suspicion is ICE

I observe that total moral degeneracy tends to have a corrosive effect on a political movement, if it has no genuine standards or principles then it will tend to get devoured by progressively more insane grifters

there is a certain condescension in the idea that “racism should be publicly unacceptable and come with consequences” is an attack on the “working class.”

90% of the time I cannot tell what point this dunderhead is trying to make
For all Universal HC/Single Payer/M4A advocates.

What do the biggest, expensive hospital chains do. Do they opt out and only serve the rich ?

Who in the USA gov runs the program?

R U ok with having to see a primary care doc before you can see a specialist ?

Wow, hard to imagine a world where rich people have access to the most expensive doctors and hospitals while the average person doesn't. Let's hope that Americans never have to worry about that happening.

At its core what people seem to struggle with is the fact that military occupation is in fact political and its violence is a daily pressure point that is a constant.

I just want Republicans, and the right generally, to be treated as real adults with agency instead of forces of nature that must be appeased or managed. Is that too much to ask?

Maybe today is the day we also have a conversation about the word “genre” and how a lot of horror is better than the stuff that gets counted as “real cinema” and a lot of SFF writing is higher quality literature than some of the shit publishers call “literary fiction”

Stop being snobby shits

About 30 years ago I moved to St Paul, Minnesota. Soon after, I saw a bunch of flyers for a Nazi rally in a nearby suburb. I was upset, wondering about the community I was going to raise my young daughter in.

I found out the “rally” was 20 people in a park. OK. They’re just a joke, I thought.

i think a (perhaps underappreciated) aspect of this whole situation is the extent to which every elite profession is filled with people who excel at drawing attention and want to be famous more than they want to do the actual job

Don't know if you have noticed but every single system of therapy involves acknowledging the truth of reality in order to move through it..

America has not done that yet.

And every single abuse we are enduring right now is balanced on 250 years of systems of racism

I wrote a thing about the little things that matter (or not) to people, why it matter to pay attention to them and (Bonus!) how that might make the holidays easier.

If you want to know more about that holiday thing, you can order my Surviving the Holidays with the Enneagram!
