I think people need to understand this “no politics” stuff is toxic and infectious and it results in VTubers across niches playing into this stuff and enabling the toxicity seen in the larger indie sphere. Even the voretubing scene struggles with it and is impacted by it
(Voraisha banned me from her server & stream after I called out Kirsche because she didn’t want my presence to cause any drama, this is why I left the voretubing name and label behind)

I also think, reading between the lines, Steam was growing more censorious of adult content during the 2020s because this was already happening. The Collective Shout situation is the middle, not the beginning, of a longer history. I think you’d have to be naive to think otherwise

This cannot be True. Steam banned Horses back in 2023 and told them then that the decision was final. The recent payment processor thing could not have had anything to do with it.

I advise interested, potential VTubers to simply reject the mainstream industry and foster your own. Most of my viewers and listeners do not pay significant attention to the major indie VTubing scene
I have no experience with Vtubing, but I have been in creative spaces for over a decade. There will always be bad actors regardless of the sector.
