My mom was in the hospital because she had a fucking heart attack and she doesn't eat worth shit so they put her on a high calorie high protein diet I can't afford and my phone is off because the SSDI still isn't fixed

...that's not an 'even more idealistic' thought. That is ALSO getting rid of the police and replacing them with an entirely new system. No one is against what you're describing: community peacekeeping and care is the goal of everyone who says defund the police, but none of that is what police do

We made it to the long line at the runway 30 min ago. We have another 20 min to wait at least. By the time we take off, I'll have been sitting on this plane for over 5 hours.

The flight from L.A. to NYC was 4.5 hours.
